I love that the fascists really think they can get a magical world in which they can poop all over everyone else but that they themselves will be safe from being pooped on. That’s not how it works, fellas. That’s why fascism never works out in the end: no one is ever safe.

Unfortunately, one needs to read a history book to know about fascism's failures and guessing those books are no longer on the library shelves in FL.

DeSantis spent months denying that his state was banning books.

He only scaled back because the Bible was effectively banned.

Your largest point stands though, that he was claiming there was no banning. Surprise; there was banning.

Big surprise, the outrage was manufactured for no reason but political power.

Frankly, they don't even care if it's true or not. They like the narrative.

And, little surprise, the Republicans who realize that their party is lost to the wolves are still trying to make the party normal. So you realize that your party made it all up and not only that but they’re not interested in the truth. Why would you stay in a party like that? “Critical race theory” and “specializing students” aren’t the only things the GOP has invented.

Their base DGAF about truth or facts. If they actually did, they wouldn't support the GOP.

It’s just that the woman featured in that article - if you realized that one part of the beliefs you had (that literally got you to run for office!) were a total sham, wouldn’t you sit and evaluate more of them? What else in your belief system is lies? She’s so close to a breakthrough on this one but she’s standing at the gate and not walking through.

Parallels with Nazis, encouraging crazy right wingers to approach schools, inciting violence… gee, what could go wrong?

Just another drop in the bucket of why I say there are no good Republicans anymore. If a person is willing to stay in this party, there’s nothing good that can be said of them.
