She did not want her parents to know what happened. She would have been in a world of trouble for drinking with boys in a house with no adults present. She wanted to pretend that it never happened. She detailed all of this

So she greets him? I'm sorry but I would not say "hello how are you to my attacker"

I did. For two long years.

I question your emotional stability for that. Seriously. That's very odd.

I’m not pp, but I was certainly in a situation a time or two as a teenager where boys in my social circle grossly crossed the line (yes, technically sexual assault), and there is no way I would have wanted the world to know. What happens when a girl starts visibly snubbing a boy in her circle? The rumor mill kicks in. How to avoid that if you want no one to know? Act like everything is normal. That you find this “very odd” is your own failure in understanding.

I didn't think they'd let this hearing happen, for this reason. I overestimated the GOP.

If that's all it takes? LOL.

I have two male friends in their 60s who just told me they are crying. They are thinking of their daughters.

There are many, many reasons people lie. Dr. Ford does not have a single reason to lie about this.

Of course she does. She wants to #resist

I want to resist, and have done so, and I wouldn't subject myself to the treatment she has received to do so. I'm not alone.

So what? Your personality is not the sum total of possible personalities in the world.

Teach your kids to speak up when they are the target of assault, or witnesses anything that's not right.

Are you people doing this?

Guess what is the BEST way to teach them?

Believe victims who come forward. If we changed our reactions to victims coming forward it would DRAMATICALLY change the reporting stats.

+1,000,000
Well said.

And once more for the people in the back.

How are we supposed to believe the victims when women clearly lie just as often as men? Did you not see the Brian Banks case that was just resolved? He served 6 years in jail for a rape he didn’t commit and had his whole life ruined. That is a good reason to take a step back in these situations I’d say

Women "clearly lie just as often as men" what does that mean? At least 60% of sexual assaults are not even reported. Of the 40% that are, a small percentage are identified as unfounded, of which false allegations are an even more minuscule percentage.

So no, people who report sexual assault (be they women or men) are lying in an incredibly small amount of cases.

Research has also demonstrated that false accusers tend to fit a certain profile as well, once that Ford does not fit. They tend to be young teens coming forward using a false accusation like an "alibi" when they don't want to get into trouble with their parents. They tend to be reports that are filed on behalf of someone, like a parent filing for a young teen. They tend to be people with severe mental illness like schizophrenia and who have trouble distinguishing realities. Etc.

This is interesting. 2/3 the one false accusation I’m aware of.

She has a HUUUUUUGE reason to lie.

Namely, her close tie with Google.

It sounded like her other front door was an accessory apartment for google interns, not truly a second front door, but a separate entrance to a separate living space.

Hosting interns is not a strong tie, and there is no "etc."

It means she has a guest room! That is it.

No it does not. You don't get to host Google interns without a formal tie to Google.

Has this been done before?

Doesn't it seem...lopsided? Wrong, out of order, or something?

All I’ve heard from the other side is statistics (which do not prove that CBJ is speaking accurately), why they already believe her, and I don’t know how many ways they can ask her about mistaken identity. She smiles every time she says she’s not mistaken.

oh my goodness, she smiled! maybe you could represent the FBI for the senate judiciary committee!

Garrett did it?

So now, a Dem comes forward to speak of bravery and courage. LOL. That's all they have. They spend their five minutes on head patting. PRESENT THE DAMN EVIDENCE.
Anonymous
I believe her, but I agree that she wasn't coached enough. Smiling and talking about google interns, she is not doing herself any favors.

The second front door thing is very chilling though. I understand where she is coming from on that.

Present the evidence. Dems need to stop the head patting.
