There were more people voting against Biden in 2024 than truly legitimate MAGA idiots just like there were more people voting against Trump in 2020 than there were people who actually thought a 78 year old Biden was a good option for POTUS. |
Actual LOTS of people didn’t vote at all. I think that says more about Americans wanting neither candidate. |
Lots of people don't vote in all elections. Trump and Biden, with all their unfitness and awfulness, actually received more votes in 2020 than in any other election in our history. It's very sad to see that it takes two awful POTUS candidates to get people out to vote. |
The majority of people voted against Trump. what is your point? |
The point is how sad it is when the awfulness of our two major party nominees is what brings people out to the polls. |
It's not just happening here. It's happening all over Europe as well. Especially post Covid, people all over the world are feeling detached from politics, cynical about politicians, and less optimistic about the ability of any political party to bring about meaningful change. |
Money running the show in politics and government is an out of control problem everywhere. |
I haven't seen anyone post about this new and troubling poll result yet. Consumer confidence falls to a 45-year low. That's a big deal. Americans are rarely this pessimistic about the economy. Consumer sentiment plunged 11% this month to a preliminary reading of 50.8, the University of Michigan said in its latest survey released Friday, the second-lowest reading on records going back to 1952. April’s reading was lower than anything seen during the Great Recession. President Donald Trump’s volatile trade war, which threatens higher inflation, has significantly weighed on Americans’ moods these past few months. That malaise worsened leading up to Trump’s announcement last week of sweeping tariffs, according to the survey. https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/11/economy/us-consumer-sentiment-april/index.html |
He’s STILL polling way ahead of the Democratic Party and all the most well-known Democratic politicians |
That's not saying much. And should not give any Republican confidence heading into 2026 and beyond. People dislike a lot of Democrats, and people dislike Trump. And people often vote for "change". |
Evidence? I’m absolutely sure Harris would beat Trump if a rematch were held today. |
