Maybe even a paint sample strip so we can accurately measure skin tones and make certain every color is represented.

Don't forget about hair color and eye color too. Also need to get a representative height/weight distribution.

Cheerleader tryouts are particularly unfair. Some kids can’t do a back handspring while others can! Look at all those “preppers” whose parents enrolled them in private gymnastics classes from ages 3-14! It’s a public high school! We can’t be setting some kind of tryout standard that rewards kids whose parents had the money to put them in gymnastics classes! Therefore the tryout routine is biased since obviously those kids would be at a competitive advantage over kids from lower socioeconomic groups.

Why is this argument any less absurd than it is for academics?

Because it’s cheerleading, not academics, moron.

+10000 People are trying to be intentionally obtuse. It’s like comparing a knitting club to academics.

honey, as long as it is tax-payer funded it comes under the same scrutiny.

Ideally, everyone is entitled to a fair and equal education in the US, not sure how you are interpreting this. Everyone is not entitled to becoming a professional athlete/band member/cheerleader/basket weaver......

The racism against Asians is clearly not an issue for white people. White people prefer to is to help Black people and maybe a few brown people, but not Asians. Just a few token Black people sprinkled around here and there, but clearly when there is a significant representation of any minority it is a threat.
I feel the Democratic Party is particularly guilty of this. Hypocritically virtue signally while actually doing notihng of substance for people of color. Oh yeah, and let's change the names of a few schools and remove some statues.
Biden can outright say he would replace the next supreme court justice with a Black woman and no one thinks it's an issue to choose by gender and skin color? What about Asian representation on the court?
At least Trump is turning over affirmative action.

OP, why do you thin that only Asians are allowed to attend TJ?

Anybody can apply. However, many idiotic racists' rationale is "If my kid can't get it, it must be rigged." Go follow Trump.

Not sure I understand this logic.
Everyone is entitled to a fair and equal education in the US> yes every student has a public school that they are zoned for.
What everyone is not entitled to is being a part of a competitive sports team/ band/ any other publicly funded activity offered to students, and that obviously includes competitive test-in schools. Either they are all fair game, or not (must be reflective of local racial demographics).

All students should be equally prepared to gain admission to these schools. That is where the inequality lies. Maybe our taxes shouldn’t cover sports and extracurriculars, I wouldn’t have an issue with that, given the fact that most parents are paying for additional lessons/teams anyway.

If local Asians take the tack that they are going to try and burn the house down just because their kids can't be disproportionately represented at TJ, their kids will end up having to deal with a lot worse things than a TJ denial letter.

Burn the house down??
And here I thought it wasn’t too much to expect a logical discussion on an anonymous board.
For starters, I implore anyone to respond to this question by a pp-

Since when is prepping "gaming the system"?
Don't people prep for interviews, for the SATs, LSATs, speeches, Olympics...

Also I’m very interested in what worse things are to come if woke whites at the top can’t get their way around this issue.

The Supreme Court will end affirmative action.

I don't see how Asians are being discriminated against in the US. They seem to be prosperous.
