Is anyone still going to pay 2k+ a year for zoom calls so your club's DOC, TD, ED, or whatever else can continue to get paid?

Because, if we do end up playing, I’d rather not drive all over Virginia and Maryland just to get blown out. I’d rather my child enjoy playing, not losing most games by multiple goals. Look at our tournaments as a club. We are barely competitive in the lowest brackets, and that’s if we qualify for the actual tournament or showcase. Yet for some reason we’re going to pay a bunch of money to play CCL? There’s a reason why we are still constantly advertising for supplemental tryouts. We don’t have enough players... ever notice how we never show players on the field during these sessions? It’s because it’s embarrassing to them. Does the club leadership care? No. Because if we’re not in CCL, they cannot get paid as much.

Change teams then. You understand that you can do that right?

Typical. LMVSC doesn’t care about the environment for its players. The ONLY thing they care about is getting your money.

Btw how do I change teams when there’s only one team in the age group? Including the one above us.

Umm, you change the club. Pretty simple.

Yeah, instead of the club doing what’s right for its member, the members should leave. Tbh I think that’s a legit notion, and seeing just how many fewer players there have been I think I’m not the only one. I just don’t want to be the last.

Well, that is how things work in a free market. If a club provides what you want then go to that club. You clearly do not like CCL so avoid clubs in CCL. How stupid do you have to be at this point?

How stupid am I? All except two LMVSC teams had a winning record in CCL, and that probably ends up to one team without COVID. How many missing teams in age groups? How many players keep leaving?

Yeah, I’m stupid.

If you’re unhappy and you’re staying then yes you are at least stubborn but possibly stupid.

It is your time and money so do what you want but spending 2k to be miserable is kinda dumb don’t you think?

How about the club listens to its members? Lol jk I know they don’t care.

You’ve been at this for some time. Clubs just don’t get to pick the league they want to be in. Sometimes they pick the league they feel is the best option for their club and player pool. Leagues determine who is in or out.

So again, pick the best club that offers what you want for your player. LMVSC may be convenient but that doesn’t mean they need to do things the way you want them to. And you are right, they will not listen to you and frankly no club will listen to you either. Just find the best fit that aligns with your values, lifestyle and competitiveness.

Clubs ABSOLUTELY pick the leagues they want to participate in. Are you kidding, lying, or uneducated?

to an extent, a club can't just decide to be ECNL or CCL. Even NCSL has an entry process, but if you already have NCSL teams, you can add additional teams

Hey guy, that’s I’m saying. MOVE our CCL teams INTO NCSL. Because CCL is TOO HARD and I don’t want to DRIVE ALL OVER VIRGINIA AND MARYLAND to get BLOWN OUT. But the CLUB LEADERSHIP DOESN’T CARE.

Last fall season my DD's U10 played NCSL for another club and played at the Maryland Sportsplex, in Winchester, VA and Fredericksburg VA. Their clubs' U9 team had an away game on Kent island and another game in near St Mary's. Just because you're ncsl does't make the travel easy

Looking to do so. LMVSC no longer is a viable option for travel soccer of any level.

Shhhhhh Let them find out for themselves.

I love these people who sign up for travel soccer and bitch about the travel.

Could it be better that it is? Yes but it is also how it is for now. The days of old school town leagues are done so you can either accept it or play in a rec league if the travel is to prohibitive.
Anonymous
Our family doesn't mind the travel until we had some back to back away games to VA Beach, Williamsburg and Charlottesville. Now that sucked.
Anonymous
We wouldn’t “bitch about the level” if LMVSC didn’t “put us in CCL just so they can charge more money”. Plenty of fine competition in northern Virginia in NCSL or NPL.

Look at our tournaments and showcases—we lose to CCL, NCSCL, and NPL teams. So just put us in the lower realms of travel, and you can charge us less money, and we can drive less distance to hopefully play in a more competitive match.

How are they benefiting from higher league costs?

That is just dumb. They don't benefit in any particular way due to league fees. It is like parents who believe clubs benefit from travel expenses.
