So you take an article about hospitals in a red state, which quotes two different doctors for two different health care systems in Oklahoma who both are saying the same thing --- and then make that the Democrats (and even Obama!) fault. Wow. Here's the truth - states which have lower level of vaccination have more Covid hospitalizations. And when the state also has a science-denying governor/legislature which bans mitigation measures like mask and vaccine mandates, there is NOTHING to stop those states' hospitals from becoming overwhelmed. |
Wow. What more do people need to convince them to get vaccinated and to convince state leaders to push vaccination? |
A sign from Jesus (or Trump), obviously. |
Texas Gov. Abbott seeks out-of-state help against COVID-19
|
So after 3 months of this debate, both Abbott and Disantis are asking for help to manage something they could have contained relatively easily.
This is leadership failure at its peak. And yet, both will be considered heroes of the right. |
Not if they kill off all the people who might vote for them. They are well on their way, and no one can stop it now. It's simply too late. |
Has the New York Times rescinded their glowing piece about him? That was offensive and is even more so now. |
The Mississippi hospital system may collapse within the next 7-10 days.
There are no open ICU beds in the state. The federal government is helping the Univ of MS Medical Center build a field hospital in the parking garage. There are 2000 fewer nurses working in MS than there were 8 months ago so HHS is sending medical staff to help too. The governor refuses to allow a mask mandate in schools, while over 1,000 children in MS were diagnosed with Covid last week and the pediatric hospital is also full. Here's the future 50-bed field hospital https://www.mississippifreepress.org/14659/mississippis-hospital-system-could-fail-in-10-days-ummc-warns-as-feds-rush-in/ |
^ man, this is like the height of the pandemic last year when field hospitals were erected in NY. Back then, though, we didn't have a vax or have the knowledge of how to treat covid like we do now.
So dumb. |
Where does HHS get the staff from? They should leave them in the states that acted responsibly since they're going to be needed as schools reopen and cases increase. |
