Incorrect. The supposed “pro-abortion” people are not advocating for people to have abortions, they are arguing for women to be able to choose for themselves whether to have abortions. “Pro-forced birth” people are, in fact, advocating for women to be forced to continue their pregnancies until they give birth, whether they want to or not.

It’s not forcing women to give birth, it’s not allowing the killing of a living fetus. It’s disgusting that it’s even an argument. It is a death. Own it if you want to defend it.

Fine. It's the killing of a living fetus. Now you own that it's ALSO forcing unwilling women to carry a pregnancy to term and give birth.

Forcing women to have sex is one thing. Rape and or incest as causes of abortion are less than 1%...yet are used to justify 100% of abortions.

Women who have sex aren’t being forced to do so. They are choosing to do so- fine.

But if a baby is made- suddenly it’s a “forced birth.”

Women have sex with men who they don’t know. Women have sex with men they don’t like. Women know they can become pregnant.

They only innocent party in this is the unborn baby.

I have a real problem with adult women putting their problems onto their unborn child.

They make bad life choices and it’s not their fault, right? It’s the baby causing all the chaos. The baby is making them poor, the baby is interrupting their education. The baby is making it so they have to stay with some loser man they have been banging for some reason.

The utter lack of responsibility by women and their tidal wave of excuses actually disgusts me.

An unborn baby is responsible for everything.

What a bunch of crap. That’s why feminism- which supposedly makes women strong empowered women- is a sham. Women do exactly as the wish and then are shocked they get pregnant(never saw that coming!!!) and then that bad little baby ruined everything.

Wow. Those are some impressive contortions to avoid admitting that your position is one of forced birth.

You're trying hard to justify promiscuity with no responsibility on the woman's part. Children are the innocent victims. Men AND women need to be more responsible when it comes to having sex.

And you want the state to make them take responsibility by forcing them to give birth.

Of course! “Let’s take these two people who aren’t even responsible enough to use birth control and force them to be parents!”

Glad to see that you're admitting they're not being responsible.

Yes, let's recap these basic, unchangeable facts:

1. People aren't responsible.
2. People have sex.
3. Men ejaculate irresponsibly.
4. Women have unintended pregnancies.
5. Women will end unintended pregnancies.

NOTHING you say or do or legislate will change these basic facts.

So the grown-ups have acknowledge all of these facts and have figured out the best solution for society:
1. Provide sex education.
2. Make contraceptives (esp LARCs) free and easily accessible.
3. Make abortion safe and legal.

This reduces the number of unintended pregnancies and unwanted children.

How about asking a woman who was the victim of one of the 1,928 rapes in Alabama last year if she ought to consider having less sex with strangers.

There’s a 5% likelihood that she’ll become pregnant.

Do you think those 1928 rapes were all committed by strangers? Rape stats show that half if women knew their attackers.
Don’t use stats stupidly. They do not further your point.

Let's start with....wanted.

Every child deserves to be wanted.

Every child deserves to be born.

You don’t get to decide that because a child’s family doesn’t meet your standards, they should die.

Sorry. They don't "deserve" anything until they are born.

I wonder who you think you are to pretend you get to choose what millions of unborn babies deserve.

What about the 4,000 frozen embryos that were lost when a fertility clinic lost power last year? Why aren't you all up in arms about those 4,000 "babies who died"?

https://www.womenshealthmag.com/health/a19298247/embryos-eggs-compromised-fertility-clinic-malfunction/

THANK YOU! 4000 "children" died! Who went to jail? Where were the prayer vigils?! You're a bunch of hypocrites.

Were they fertilizedembryos or eggs similar to those shed during a menstrual cycle?

Both.

Those embryos were not fetuses. You think you’re being so smart and making gotcha arguments, but you’re not.

So you don't care about embryos? Just fetuses?

The baby doesn't become a fetus until the 10th week of pregnancy (~8 weeks after fertilization; ~7 weeks after implantation).

No. But I also think we've gone way too far in the direction of too many women not wanting to act in a responsible manner. It's the children who suffer, one way or another.

Not the men? Just the women? You're a misogynistic asshole of the highest order.

DP. PP (and others) only care about having control over women’s bodies. They don’t care about the embryo/fetus/infant or else they would back a whole host of other policies/legislation to encourage parenthood, like parental leave, affordable healthcare, decent and affordable daycares, good public schools etc. abortion is only about turning women’s bodies into public/male property.

You're free to teach whatever values you want to your children. What you are NOT allowed to to is punish women and make them have children they don't want to do, in order to reinforce your values by making the stakes higher for your children.

Also consider that they're just uneducated, and believe that it goes from embryo to six-month fetus with no interim steps.

Do you think it's important to teach responsibility and good values to all children? I work in a school system, and I'm referring to what our young people are seeing, listening to, and internalizing on a daily basis. It ain't pretty.

About sex, about the role of women in the 21st century, about equality and society. the whole thing is medieval.

Which is apparently the goal of MAGA.

Netflix is replacing sex among the middle class. We are on the same track as Japan save for immigration. We are becoming a country of anchor babies

Once again, the omission of the importance of teaching values and responsible behavior to our young people. Why isn't it included in your list?

It was on the list:
Proper sex education will teach young people about the different birth control options available (incl. abstinence) and the associated risks. And, by providing easy access to BC, we do promote responsible behavior.

Similar to the pro-forced-birthers.

Once again, the omission of the importance of teaching values and responsible behavior to our young people. Why isn't it included in your list?

You're free to teach whatever values you want to your children. What you are NOT allowed to to is punish women and make them have children they don't want to do, in order to reinforce your values by making the stakes higher for your children.

Do you think it's important to teach responsibility and good values to all children? I work in a school system, and I'm referring to what our young people are seeing, listening to, and internalizing on a daily basis. It ain't pretty.

I think that's not on topic. But yes, I do think that teaching comprehensive sex ed and consent is a big part of teaching responsibilities and good values to children, and would reduce the abortion rate. But that's kind of orthogonal to the subject at hand, which is banning abortion.
