And Kris Jenner is mom of the year. Kylie is a billionaire and she didn’t even need no stinking college.

Agreed! This is pure grist for the DOJ lawyers. Go get 'em.

Also, check out Eve Jobs's (daughter of Steve Jobs) Instagram. She's in Stanford with a bunch of other kids of celebrities and tech titans. She's usually posting from Miami, Aspen, NYC, or other global hot spots. Rarely is on campus.

I'd love it if access to federal funds were suspended from any university that accepted donations for admittance. I really want the DOJ to look into the admissions process at selective American universities. I guarantee they will find a cesspool of corruption.

Her family is wealthy enough that they probably directly donated to the school

The real problem is the matter of fact way in which you (and all of us) discuss this. It's ridiculous and no private or public university tapping into federal research dollars or financial aid systems should be allowing this. Outright ban it.

I’m the PP that said her family directly donated to the school. I agree it’s not right but in the press conference it was said this was not a matter of buying a building but criminal because of the fraud.

Does this include the donations to fund a professor chair, lecture series or buildings? Let’s investigate Harvard’s Z list and see where did the money go. There is no difference with this case.

Yeah other than the fact that one is fraud and one isn’t, one is illegal and one isn’t, and one the university gets the money and in the other the money goes in the pockets of dishonest individuals.

Other than that, no difference.

Did Georgetown Univ really NOT know about the tennis coach taking bribes? Why did he leave Geirgetown for UNiv of Rhode Island? Any thoughts on this —- Georgetown trying to cover up scandal by forcing him to leave?

Felicity Hoffman and William H. Macy are in a federal court room right now. Here's what's waiting for them outside. Walk of shame time!

Long way away from this.

Of course they knew, which is why they got rid of him. I doubt they deliberately tried to cover it up...they probably had to keep quiet because it was part of the larger federal investigation.

To any half-thinking American Joe, making a university donation to ensure your kid gets admitted is fraud. It's cheating, amoral, and just completely f#cked up. I want any university that does this to lose access to federal research dollars and financial aid. Full stop.

And further, it's robbing America of someone else's brilliance. This is how countries atrophy into a necrophic husk of its former self. No innovation, no ingenuity; just a bunch of kids born on 3rd base leeching off their parents' power and wealth.

Don’t underestimate the kids’ desires to delay entrance into adulthood. Four years of partying without the expectation of working or any responsibility (even if they don’t need college since they’re set for life).

not sure if this has been posted yet but the CW-1 says he did this for 800 families!

If so, this is just the first salvo. My god between this and the upcoming harvard decision on AA (and the UNC AA fight) these next 2-3 years are going to be revolutionary for the college landscape

In the Stanford sailing case, the money went to the sailing program.

In both instances above, it is bribery at the end of the day. Just a more savvy way to recharacterize it...

You made sacrifices socially, economically, or whatever, to get the best grades you could. You studied like a maniac for the SAT, ACT, etc. You rewrote and rewrote and rewrote your college application essays. You did what you could to earn good letters of recommendation. You apply to schools, and you hope you have as reasonable a chance as anyone else, based on the school's admission stats. Then you are rejected from your top choices.

Then you find out your spot was taken because of bribes.

I told my daughter when she was applying that things were fixed a lot of the time. She thought I was nuts. I just sent her the link....

To you beautiful DCUM peeps: Thanks for not letting me down.

I was at work when this story broke this morning, and all I could think about was how I could not wait to get home, pour a glass of wine, and read through dozens of pages on this. Forty-five pages by the time I got home! Y'all do NOT disappoint!!!

Yeah, exploiting your teens on TV and grooming them to become out of wedlock pregnancy whores for rappers, basketball players and layabouts is superior parenting.

The loughlin daughter looks like a complete tart on her social media. Loughlin probably thought she had the next kardashian empire in the making. I hope this kills all this social media garbage. These girls look utterly ridiculous with all the non stop preening amd posing. Make it all stop. So destructive and fake.
