What is a post-season ban? I don't know football or sports well. What does it mean?

A post season ban means no competing in the playoffs.

I'm praying for them and their instagram face filters!

I hope he’ll provide an update on his broadcast tonight. He is the only reporter reporting on this story. So he’s got the inside scoop.

Well, considering his first "reporting" consisted of texting Overton, repeating his denial verbatim, and not doing any follow-ups with VHSL or FCPS or even the Coach, I am not optimistic he will be getting to the truth of the matter.

A bad look for this "reporter". Did he issue a retraction?

I’d like to see Mr. Ricardo’s response since it appears he knows the details from the Hayfield / FCPS perspective.

This article confirms a ban for post-season play in 2024 and 2025, subject to an appeal by Hayfield.

Shame that VHSL is having to step in to address a situation that FCPS and useless Michelle Reid purported to investigate. Time for Reid to step aside.

He clearly texted the coach and just repeated what the coach texted him. He hasn't done any actual journalism.

This is weird. Hayfield’s point of view is that there is nothing to look at here. It’s all a big misunderstanding.

Yet other accounts point to the VHSL, which rarely ever steps in to penalize programs themselves (leaving it up to the school districts), imposing a two year post season ban. Unprecedented.

Something doesn’t add up and smells fishy. FCPS needs to address this, as this affects other high schools inside and outside of FCPS.

That's why it was absolutely terrible reporting. He didn't find out if vhsl had sent a letter. He jyst repeated some BS from the coach (who didn't deny that a letter was sent).

InsideNova always has accurate local HS stories. Their information will be correct.

Very sad season for the real Hayfield players--their team was taken over by Potomac Mills carpetbaggers and sketchy "coaches", most of them didn't even get in the games all season after playing last year, and now they don't even get the reward of going to the playoffs.

Hayfield and FCPS owe those kids a huge apology for letting this happen. What a s-show.

I wonder if VHSL would lift the ban for next year if the whole carnival sideshow was fired.

I guess this is why Reid refused to answer any parent's questions at her meeting with them.

Isn’t Reid one that actually spoke the “all is well” words herself in fall at the press conf?

Nov 4 should prove an interesting meeting….

From link “The Virginia High School League has banned Hayfield High School’s football team from the 2024 and 2025 postseasons, according to a source deeply familiar with the situation.
Hayfield has appealed the decision, though, and a Virginia High School League committee is scheduled to hear the appeal Nov. 4.”

FCPS has never held a press conference on this topic, and they have refused to answer any questions on this.

My speculation: a bunch of kids claimed to be homeless. FCPS refused to investigate their "homeless" claim out of some kind of principle. VHSL called BS.

dang I would totally watch a livestream of that, with popcorn.

too bad there is no way to punish the adults while leaving the kids out of it. especially the real Hayfield players.
