The whole concept is kinda silly and completely unrealistic. But perhaps the potential candidates say they would consider moving just to have the opportunity to be on the show.

It's ridiculous that they do this but I bet the participants lie and say they would move. Or they just don't care if the guy would be good on TV. Someone with a thriving business and family ties is not relocating..

And no...alot of "younger" women don't want someone older especially with children and grandchildren. There are actually alot of people who do prefer someone around their age.

Joan (and some others) don't seem ready for a relationship. There's too much grieving over husbands and wives and I understand that it's hard for them.

If a person is already established in their area and are very close with family, most likely they will never move for anyone.

I wish Joan and everyone the best. Everyone, no matter how old, young or what society says is "pretty or handsome" deserves love.

You'd have a point if they picked some Ina Garten looking lady looking for older normal looking men. And if they had, this conversation wouldn't happen. This is a show with people deemed conventionally attractive for tv regardless of age. Meanwhile, Joan has facelifted her face into mask territory, and is obviously someone very into appearances and looking good. So there is a disconnect here.

I feel like she's a big stuck-up superficial Republican and Jordan is just this awesome, fun, normal and liberal midwestern guy. It wouldn't even have worked out for a couple more dates. Also, he can do so much better and a lot younger. To me she looks a good 15 years older than he does.

This.

I agree she is superficial and is looking for someone with money, who takes care of her the way her husband did.

I think Joan talks about her grieving because she has nothing else interesting to talk about. I bet she’s very open and eager to meet someone new because she obviously wants to be part of a couple. She’s pretty bland by herself. Her identity now is that of a widow but I’m sure she’s ready to move on. And probably the conversations with the guys are focused on grieving etc because they have nothing else to talk about. None of them have much in common except the obvious love for family.

I don’t know why they thought she’d be a good lead. There’s no there there.

I think this thread is more interesting than the show itself. She’s basically an older woman who gets plastic surgery, has some kids and lives in the suburbs.

Kind of true especially since they haven't shown more of her personality and interests to fill out how the viewer perceives her.

Agree, inappropriate to meet the family.

The dress would have been fine if not for the oversized implants.

Honestly she looks crazy with all that work. And yet has really terrible old lady skin for 61. My 60something friends look much younger and more natural.

I think her extreme thinness has a lot to do with it. With so little body fat there's nothing to plump out the skin so it sags and looks crepey. If she covered her arms, you wouldn't notice. She also seems to be a beach lover, and all that sun exposure is very rough on aging skin.

I wonder if he isn't too normal for her, but maybe! Joan did say she's tried two setups and one might be working.

I've noticed her crepey arms. I am a few years younger than her and I have crepey legs - and mine are not low body fat so I have crepe AND cellulite - but not my arms. Yet? When I saw hers I wondered if mine would be that way in a few years.

I also have sun damage so maybe that contributes?

But back to the implants. I agree that without the implants the dress might not have been so bad, but even with natural breasts it seems a bit much, especially with the circle design at the center drawing your eye there.

Similarly, the turtleneck dress slit was a bit high on the leg, and the almost crop top and tight jeans seemed a bit young for her.

Who is dressing her? The show?

Yes. She brought some of her own clothes but also has a stylist provided by the show.
