During the live show when Joan was telling Guy she wanted to be friends and have double dates, the camera showed a young woman in the audience who seemed to be rolling her eyes. Did I imagine that or did anyone else see that?

Here's a close up of the ring:

Why show the ring??

Because people are always interested in seeing engagement rings?

Everyone wants to see the ring.

I don't think I've ever even noticed someone's engagement ring.

Bringing out Wayne Newton's remains from a sarcophagus and forcing it to warble through some notes with what I can only assume was some kind of combination of ABC cattleprods/bedevilment and pharmacotherapeutic macro dosing of HGH was a low point. Was Dick Clark's body not available? Wayne Newton is too old for even the golden bachelorette's generation so it was an absolute WTF moment as transmitted even by Joan's tight, alarmed face.

The written word so far rarely makes me laugh out loud but this was spot on and hysterically funny. I would have thought it an exaggeration if I hadn’t seen the episode, but, no, spot on. Brava.

Right?

Why do people think “everyone” is the same as they are?

Dying to know what the guys think of Chock. That's the tell. I think he's sus, many red flags. But I really want to know if they think he's fundamentally a good guy. That would be reassuring. Beyond the snark of his coming on too strong with Joan.

In good lighting she looks good when she doesn't do that weird open mouth thing. Still wish she'd lose the Real Housewife look and cut her extensions.

I mean, he seems sincere and really into her? Unlike Gerry, to compare.

The other men didn't like the way Chock tried to turn the group bowling date into a one on one but otherwise I don't recall many comments from the other men about Chock.

But sometimes the cast is pretty effusive about the final choice. I bet they would have been if Guy were chosen. Seems to be crickets here.

I think the producers would have trotted out some of the guys to attest to what a terrific guy Chock is, given the negativity circulating about him. My guess is that he was too competitive and fixated on Joan, and they didn't feel he was "one of the guys" in the same way. On the other hand, I did get the clear vibe that they like Joan as a person.

In other words, they didn't like him much. It was clear how much the group liked Pascal, Guy, and others.

Were Susan and Nancy the only golden ladies who attended the finale?

I saw Sandra. For some reason the ladies were spread out and not seated together.

I was so creeped out when Chock said their deceased exes were smiling down at them, wanting them to be together. Ew, ew, ew.
