| Well, if it’s a 2nd tier team on a 2nd tier platform, isn’t that exactly where they belong? That comment doesn’t make sense. |
Because their 2nd team crushed everyone in Aspire. They already had that team and they were a solid team. Lou Fusz is a big club, they can handle having two teams. National did it when they were in GA. The 2nd team will not be as good in GA as the 1st team, but if my kid was on that 2nd team at LF, i'd rather them be in GA than GA-Aspire. At least they will get challenged more than when they were in Aspire. Good luck to you and your kid in ENCL - i'm sure they are on a 0-15-3 team but you have all the gear. must be nice. |
| If I’m ECNL, I’m reaching out to all GA clubs with 2 teams and offering ECNL/RL. |
Lou Fusz would beat 50% of the encl teams at an age group. stop with your 2nd tier team/platform BS. Unless your kid plays on one of the top ECNL teams, its all the same. |
I wasn’t agreeing, just pointing out the absurdity of the comment. IF someone was of the believe that they were a 2nd tier team (which by definition, they are) why would it be crazy to play on what you believe is a 2nd tier team? You could literally ask any ECRL team the same thing. |
ok, i miss took your comment. makes sense. |
LF has great teams no doubt they could compete in ECNL as could many teams from GA. But GA is the 2 tier platform for girls. 2nd place isn’t a bad thing it’s just behind first place ecnl. |
Not familiar enough with the soccer scene in SL. But why not play for another clubs top Ga rather than play on a clubs 2nd GA team? Or a top RL team? |
Barf Comment. GA is on a good trajectory to surpass ECNL in quality/ quantity. The GA has only been around 6 year. ECNL Girls, 15 years. Any idiot can do the math and see how for and how quickly the GA has come. Just look at the U12 State Cup final 8 teams in Virginia. 7 ECNL Teams and 1 GA Team. And I am betting now the GA Team will win it all again. I know that is small sample size, but the soon the uninformed will stop carelessly say the GA is 2nd tier -which it is not. As Listed by US Soccer: Top-Tier Youth Leagues (National/Elite): -MLS Next (Boys): Top-tier league launched by MLS to connect elite academies, offering the highest level of competition for boys aiming for professional pathways. -Girls Academy (GA): Highest level for girls, focusing on top-tier competition and national team identification. -Elite Clubs National League (ECNL): Top-level league for both boys and girls that serves as a premier platform for college recruiting and top-tier competition. |
You see how people don’t expect GA players to make ECNL teams let alone a clubs 2nd GA team. But everyone knows any ECNL player can leave for any GA/RL club they want. However I’m sure SLG would love to get some of those 1st team players. |
Lol 😂 cmon that’s crazy no way GA will ever be compared to ECNL as far as number of D1 recruits or number of top 25 nationally ranked teams. The only way that could happen is if NWSL starts a league and merges with Ga. Otherwise GA will always be 2nd place which again is fine. “If youre not first you’re last” Ricky Bobby |
ECNL doesn’t start until U13? Who cares about U12 and below you can’t compare because the older players get the more they hop to ECNL. |
| Success at U12 is not a good indicator of success later when they become actual GA/ECNL teams. Roster turnover will eventually set in and those teams will be very different by U16. |
Maybe this is an area where people actually make decisions based on development and not FOMO. LF has no issue whatsoever with D1 placement, so what reason would they even need to leave? Other than the league travel, because that actually is pretty awful. |
I do love the effort at logic here: 7 of the top 8 teams are ECNL and one is GA, ergo, GA is the best. Wouldn’t even be true if the GA team won. No one doubts there are SOME good teams in GA. The league’s problem is depth, which your stats corroborate. |
