As a parent of one of the 7 "ECNL" teams, which OBTW, the only ECNL team is Arlington who go knocked out at u12G, I find this comment comical as well. The 6 remaining "ECNL" teams are "feeder clubs" or RL. Many kids unfortunately didnt make the ECNL feeder teams for next year. SYC is a good team, most rising u13 girls staying in GA for at least a year and will make a good run. It is interesting though how 2011 SYC top player is going Arlington, 2012 SYC top player going VDA. Sorry, couldnt help myself with facts. |
RL wishes it were 2 -- I's basically a group of strong clubs + the top of USYS National League that didn't go MLSN/GA AND those changes are why N1L was formed to help rebuild/support the USYS. |
SYC recruits VERY hard from U8 to U12. |
Agreed, seen it first hand. As they are in GA longer, it will be interesting to see if they hold ground or kids continue to peel off. |
You left out the distinction between MLS HG and MLS AD, which are definitely two different levels. |
MLSNext is really 3 levels... The actual MLS Academies, then the Homegrown division, and then the Academies division |
So on the boys side it’s 1.MLS Academy 2a. MLS HG 2b. ECNL 3. MLS AD 4 ECRL ? |
Fixed it... 1.MLS Academy 2. MLS HG 3 ECNL 4 MLS AD 5.... |
| In the DC area, MLS AD teams and ECRL teams are the same level or RL is better. Its the same players who played RL last year on the "new" AD teams this year. Can't speak to other areas. |
| GA adds Inspire the 3rd tier system |
Not a 3rd tier its for U11s and 12s |
| money grab. |
