Weird Question...I only have little kids so me and mom go to every single game, practice, etc. We sometimes have to divide and conquer but both of us usually go to every game. As the kids get older, do parents go less and less to games? Like do the players just drive themselves and show up or are the parents still there watching and acting crazy? If parents starting tapering off, when is that? U16 when they start driving?

FCV 03 DA will not be stronger than BRYC 03 in your opinion?

I know I;d still go to games as they get older. Especially then, why miss it?

U17 mom and I still go to all the games and plan to continue. Haven't sat at many practices in the last 2 years once older sibling was driving, and just did drop off/pick up in the fall since older sibling graduated.

Not really close. That Braddock team is awesome, the loudoun and Fcv mix at 04 DA will have Fcv 03 kids in the pool. Excited to see this DA team come together.

Same here with a U18 son, though I miss more games carting younger kids around. My husband and his parents go to every home game when they are in town. We have found that the yelling and carrying on decreases year by year, unless you are talking about parents from NY or NY. (Or dads from the Soccer Association of Columbia--the ones we've encountered have been screaming at refs and other teams' players and parents since their sons were in early elementary school and are still going strong all these years later. I always wonder who they'll yell at when they have no kids left at home.)

At U16 and U17 my DD's team started taking team buses to out of state games in places like PA, NC, DE, NJ, NY. We now rarely go to those out of state games but we do go to all the home games.

And your desire to watch your kid practice will drop considerably if he/she is practicing 4 days a week for 2 hours a day.

FWIW, at Jeff Cup this year, the BRYC team was in the championship group and lost in the final. FCV 03 ECNL won their Elite Black group (2 groups down from championship). The FCV DA 03 team will be better than this years ECNL team I would expect. They're probably both on the same level.

Just curious. Why do people believe that "playups" are such great players?

The vast majority of them just started a year early.
The vast majority of them come back to age when they get older
The vast majority of them are only on par with their age group

Show me a u16 or U17 sucessful playup on a high level team and then I will agree that they are above their peer level. But please don't sell me on the fact that all playups are better then their peers. Especially at the younger ages. It's simple not true.
