As previous posters have already noted, it was funded initially by the RNC but they walked away from it, it was then offered by Fusion GPS to the Clinton campaign who then continued to fund it. Again, funding it alone is not the issue. I am sure there are plenty of oppo research out there that was funded by whoever. This is certainly not the only oppo research that was ever funded. The issue is that it was funded by the Clinton campaign *AND* then used as the basis of a FISA warrant against a political opponent.

There is very little from the dossier that has been disproven and no one cares about the pee tape, if it exists or not (though Trump was clearly concerned about tapes given what he had Cohen doing) - that is called kompromat, and is core to Russian tactics.
