Guess this is what happens when winning is the imperative over development right? |
| It's a big part of getting a travel coach job. You can bring players that will pay us instead of their old club? You're in |
It's between seasons though, aren't they already committed to and paid for the Spring at GFR? |
Some people could not care less about honoring a commitment. They have no conscience. Leaving their teammates in the lurch doesn't matter to them, and or their parents. It's all about them. If mommy and daddy can pay the balance due to GFR and their fee for VRSC it's a done deal. |
GFR fees are most likely paid in full at this point. |
What usually happens in cases like this is that the club you're moving to will basically let you play the spring for free since you're definitely not getting a refund from the club you're leaving (especially if you're following a coach). And in cases like this, it's also not a carding issue because GA and ECNL use different systems. |
Aren't the rosters at VRSC full? Are they going to let GFR girls playing for free take playtime away from VRSC girls paying VRSC to be on the team? |
Welcome to youth soccer! By the time you're done with it, you'll realize there's a *lot* of questionable stuff that goes on and plenty to dislike about it. Other youth sports are probably the same way but I can only speak to what I have experience with - in this case, soccer. |
I honestly doubt any of the 09 girls from GFR will take playtime away from the VRSC 09's - they are all CC's faves from FCV. But no doubt GD and potentially CC are telling them they'll get lots of minutes. |
This is true. There are several 09's from GFR on VRSC from a year or two ago and they are not as good as the FCV girls. |
It’s pretty characteristic of how ED and CC build a club. They promise new adds higher level positions in top leagues and demote their current players. Then when the new team sucks, everyone is unhappy but it’s too late because you paid your $4k. It’s the MO. They don’t give two shts about your child no matter how good you think they are. This strategy will backfire on the, this year as with the age level changes and so many GA clubs to chose from, there will be a mass exodus of the best players who get sht on. Same thing happen to Loudoun when RAT walked all over the top two teams. It may not have an immediate impact across clubs but in a few years a new dominant club will emerge. Not likely to be these a wholes. |

quote] They don’t care. What you have to understand is they put growing the program over quality. The girls who come in from GF aren’t as good, but they promise them to spots, displacing existing girls to grow the teams. They want to grow the aspire program. By the time tryouts are over at other clubs, your child is moved to aspire and the less good player now takes your GA spot. |
| Are other GA players allowed to go practice with them now? Is there a rule like ECNL? |
| GA aspire yes, but I don’t believe other GA club players can do more than practice. You can’t switch teams from ga to ga mid season. The gf girls coming in are ecnlrl |
