And even if that perfect candidate exists, why wouldn’t they hold their fire and plan for a 2028 run instead of going against Trump? For all his faults he did just survive a horrific attempt on his life and surely gets some sympathy votes. He’ll be gone soon enough and 2028 offers a clean slate rather than this mess.
I like Harris

I like the way she completely deflects from the question Anderson is asking her, and doesn't address it at all - other than to call Biden "strong."
That's what I liked too. She laid out why this election matters so much better than anyone else I've heard lately.

Hmm. You liked that she wouldn't answer Anderson's questions and then lied about Joe Biden's physical/mental decline? Ok, then.

I don’t believe anyone spewing the crap that Biden was pushed aside for Hillary. He didn’t want to run because Beau had just died.

I do believe it. Biden always trusted Obama and he was the one who told Biden to take more time to mourn his son. I believe Biden would have won. I voted for Obama. Recently, I think he’s arrogant and he’s allegedly one of the first to advise Biden to step down. Their so called friendship was one sided. Always felt like he looked down on Biden.

I believe it too and wholly agree with your thoughts on Obama.

Thank you!

Been thinking the same thing. Obama was leaking to the press in 2020 “Joe you don’t have to do this.” Most of the people I personally know who want him to drop out also thought he was done for in the 2020 primary.

Ron Klain says Biden isn’t dropping out. I hope the damage that dem leadership has inflicted on the campaign these past few weeks can be overcome. The party needs to run a tight ship of unity.

Only a dimwit answers a question like that.
I liked that she stayed loyal to Biden, too.

It’s called leverage. While you’re negotiating golden parachutes you pretend you’ll stay in. They’d have no leverage if they confessed they’re out.

I'm tired of weirdos defending Trump or Biden. These two old people need to go, one because he's senile and nasty, the other because he's senile and weak.

The best way we can ensure that is to elect Harris in 2024.

Harris isn't getting elected. Everyone knows that.
I think forcing Biden out is terrible, but if they're going to go there, they might as well replace him with someone who can win. Witmer/Buttigieg or something.

Stop with Buttigieg. He has done horrible job as transportation Secretary. He was out for 4 months for Paternity and no one even noticed.
He has no other national experience. Move on to some one else please..

I agree with this. Heard that polling shows the public feels misled by democrats who are still backing Biden. The gaslighting is incredible.

Speaking of gaslighting, your post and all like it are exemplars of the craft.

Democrats have lots of great options for President - Harris, Whitmer, Beshear, Shapiro, Newsom, Klobuchar, Pritzker. I believe even AOC is or will be old enough to be inaugurated. There is no shortage of talent in the Democratic Party.

But due to the colossal arrogance and idiocy of the Bidens, the DNC, and the out of touch dinosaurs running the Democratic Party (Schumer, Pelosi, Clyburn, the Clintons) we are all but assured four more years of Trump, a Republican Senate, a Republican House, and 30 more years of a deeply conservative Supreme Court.

I see no realistic way out.

Biden's decision to run for a second term - and everyone that enabled that delusion - is the most costly mistake Democrats have made since they nominated McGovern in 1972, who went on to lose 49 states to Richard frickin' Nixon. It really is breathtaking how much Democrats can screw up something so easy as defeating Donald Trump. And now here we are, when even New Jersey is likely to go Republican.

Eh. Ignore that poster. Just another troll. There are a huge number of them on these threads.

Several of the people you mentioned already said they aren't interested. And several others poll even worse than Biden does.
You don't have a plan and you don't have data and all you're doing is engaging in a Democratic circular firing squad.
Get your shit together.

It was the first time I saw her on TV (that’s how much I care about politics). I am sure there are other voters like me out there.
My reaction afterwards was - “this lady needs to do some serious work on her public image because she instantly comes across as a total a…..le. Very aggressive and can’t even honestly answer a question. Who needs politician like that?”

It's so telling that the "Biden needs to step aside" faction has so far NOT been able to counter or address the fact that they don't actually have a plan, don't actually have any solid candidates who've agreed, and don't actually have any credible polling data to show that whoever it is that they want to put up in place of Biden actually has a chance of winning. None whatsoever. And the clock is ticking.

Those are the most critical and important things to discuss in this thread yet that have absolutely nothing. There's less than 3 weeks to get all of that together and to make a compelling case at the DNC convention. But instead they run around making wild proclamations and assertions and demands with absolutely nothing solid behind them - nothing at all, just knee-jerk idiocy.

Speaking of circular firing squads, the convention opens one month from today in Chicago. It could be a throwback to earlier times when actual decision making happened instead of just being a made for TV event. Also, it’s Chicago, so you can’t rule out 1968-style riots and cops beating people up.

It leaves such a bad taste in my mouth that people are piling on Biden (and none if it is with any deference or respect toward him as the sitting POTUS, or any kindness whatsoever, but just nasty ageism and meanness about people with declining mental faculties), and when Trump rambles like a fool, they just shrug and say "Well, we KNOW he's crazy and he's always been incompetent and horrible, so it's different". It's wrong when the majority bullies a decent person to protect themselves from the really bad bully. It's wrong in middle school and it's wrong in this case too. I don't know what the solution is, but it's not this. You deserve Trump, and you're going to get him either way.

Wholeheartedly agree. Add MSM and I’m disgusted. Can you imagine how Biden feels? The disrespect and disloyalty toward our sitting President is the one thing that’s broken my heart. In all the years of chaos and Trump never ending depravity, the treatment of Biden is what's left me in tears. Obama, Schiff, Pelosi— shame and on them. They should have rallied around Biden, respected his privacy and dignity, made a single public statement, and deliberated privately. They then turned on Harris!

Remember, Biden is the one who said⬇️

It’s time for us to stop treating politics like entertainment and reality TV.

The days of failed trickle-down economics are over.

My first hundred days of a second term is going to continue to be all about working people of this nation.

Unlike Donald Trump, I don’t work for Big Oil. I don’t work for Big Pharma. I don’t work for the National Rifle Association.

I work for you, the American people.

We can’t worry about how Biden feels. This is about what’s best for the country, not his ego.

Not mutually exclusive. They should have rallied around Biden, respected his privacy and dignity, made a single public statement, and deliberated privately.
