Maybe she believed he was cheating. The woman in that video (not Carlee) said something to the effect of “You cheat, I’m leaving like a thief in the night.” Did she create a bogus scenario to test her boyfriend? Would he rescue her like a knight in shining armor?

Another piece of evidence that she might well be low intelligence and high drama, terrible pattern

No one makes it through a nursing program with low intelligence. Stop insulting this woman you know nothing about.

There’s a whole spectrum of nursing programs. She could be in a LPN program which really isn’t too difficult.

Unlikely, since she already has a bachelors degree.

She is in an RN program.

She seems very dramatic and prone to extremes so either could fit.

That the family did not call LE before going to RRI or when she returned home suggests to me that they did not see the situation as a LE one at that point and where trying to address it themselves or buy time to frame the facts. The family was not acting concerned about a missing toddler or out of a zeal to catch abductors. They were acting like they were trying to shield her from LE consequences and mitigate her mess. YMMV.

It’s like you’re completely unaware that there’s a trust issue between black Americans and the cops.

Also, people have never been in that situation. I'm sure if I've been up for 2 days worried about my kid, when they finally walk through the door after I've been fearing they're dead, I'm not going to say, "Hold on just a minute, while I call the police." I'm probably going to fawn all over them. They have their own trauma. Maybe the advocate happened to call, or arrive, and then she called. Seems reasonable.

You'd think that someone in the 6 cars of family that drove over could spend 30 seconds to call, especially if they thought there was an abductor, but okay.

Where did you hear/read that her family didn’t call the police? I’m curious because there’s already a ton of misinformation on this thread, such as there was a GFM for the family when there wasn’t.

LE said who they were contacted by and it was the mom of the deceased victim/advocate.

I didn’t see anything in their statement to that affect. I read from the police statement that a call came from Carlee’s residence.

What?

Atkins Trim Lane is ~400-ft away from where she parked her car. If the sister-in-law was there when she called 911, then she is really dumb.

But it would make sense as to why she called her sister-in-law after 911. Wanted to let her know she was walking up and to ensure she was there to pick her up.

Where did you see this?

I feel bad for her parents. This has embarrassed them in front of their business and church community.

I genuinely hope for her sake she did not make this up. That would really be shooting herself in the foot. It would also not make sense. Why would she not just say she was staying over at a friend's if she wanted to go out and do something that her parents/boyfriend did not approve of?

Do you want a link to the police dispatch, where the dispatcher is talking about the report from a Red Roof Inn employee that the family (6 cars' worth) had shown up looking for her, and this was the first the police heard of it? I'll dig up a link, if you can tell me whether that would suffice.

I feel bad for the young woman. I'm glad she's safe. There has been a tremendous outpouring of resources and attention, and this was requested by the parents. More info is going to continue to come out.

I don't think this is a good time to be upset at people for discussing the details, but we're all going to make our own decisions. I do hope the family helps her lockdown all her social media accounts ASAP. They aren't helping.

The entire thing was a hoax so that she could get away to the red roof inn and be with her 17 year old baby daddy.

Her social media accounts do not give me the vibe that she wouldn’t feel comfortable going to a party or staying at a friend’s house without permission from her parents. I’m almost certain they disapprove of what she posts on her accounts.

He must have been blowin her back out right if she was willing to fake her abduction to get them cheeks clapped.

I’m listening to the dispatch now. Also I’m not upset with anyone, just asking and fact checking.
