Now that the Asian world thinks that with this ruling they are going to definitely get into Harvard's 2000 spots next year, there is going to be a run on test preps and trying to bump GPAs.
How many years will it take for Nothing to change for to drop this and move onto being a victim of something else. I cannot wait to see the results next year. |
NP. Why the sarcasm? This thread is so gross and racist and the whole thing deserves to be deleted. |
And they do! Why stay here if it is so terrible? Why would you want to educate your child here, if it is so terrible? Serious question. |
Asian-Americans are not allowed to criticize anything, speak up, discuss discrimination, bring lawsuits, etc? These are fundamentally American freedoms like free speech. |
+1 I don't recall prior generations crying victim to this degree. |
Hsieh was super smart and driven. Went to Harvard. Started multiple companies and "made it." Really, really made it. Ended up addicted to drugs and burned to death in a shed. The American Dream from start to finish. I still feel bad for his family. |

You don't seem to be properly educated. Care more about education |
Some folks seem very angry by the decision. Maybe URM parents of current junors. |
Got it. Superior race. Yup. |
Again it's not race. It's culture of caring more about education. |
Why can’t we all just get along? Just add an another 8 hours on to the school day and that should even things out a bit. Then only about 10 hours left to eat and sleep. Oh, and no days off no summer off for kids.

Questbridge matches from deepest Appalachia are about to make up 30 percent of Harvard's incoming class. Sorry, magnet-school strivers who have mastered competition math and racquet sports. But thank you for being used. |
I’m just here for the comments. |
That is what the essay is for. To help the AOs get to "know" your kid and what they can bring to the school.....HOLISTIC!! But not exposing pain. Just one sentence in one essay is enough "The reason I made a A- in that one class is because my parents let me be a well rounded kid and allowed me to play team sports, hang out some weekends, go to movies, etc... instead of studying all the time under extreme academic pressure like my Asian friends (who told me what their parents say about people of my race)." |
