Johnny Depp trial in Fairfax County

Mutual airing of dirty laundry/fight for public opinion? It is (and the situation and they both are) awful.

I would bet the Director was like "Johnny, just give me a little more crazy pirate -- bigger, more outrageous, right?" No wonder he was drinking 17 Red Bulls with a few lines of powder to get through the shootng, and then using a couple vicodin and a big glass of something to get to sleep at night. And it sounds like injury on one of the earlier Pirate movies is what got him into the pills (to add onto the pile of his previous addictions -- why no one at the studio realized he would need a different pain management protocol for his on-the-job injury....).

On one hand, I think people are not sympathetic to the work issues suffered by multi-millionaire actors. On the other hand, I think we see a lot of instances in which actors lives are just ruined because the studios use them this way. Look at Uma Thurman and the car accident she had. Or the million comics who are pressured to take uppers because people find them funnier that way. Hollywood takes these people who often have a lot of insecurity and family trauma that leads them to be effective at capturing the depth of human emotions --- then pushes them to a breaking point, and throws them away when they get embarrassing.

I just finished reading Valley of the Dolls, which was written in the 60s and described basically the same dynamic. Which was partly based on Judy Garland’s life from even earlier…. Amazing that all these decades later and basically nothing has changed.

I think she is a liar. But how big of a deal is this if she just says, oops my bad, got the brand name wrong! Is this really a smoking gun?

It’s the way it was discussed—she carried this compact in her purse every day so she could hide bruises, she will show you in excruciating detail how she mixed the colors etc. All a lie, which undermines her accusation.

He’s almost done creating another video to analyze behavior in the courtroom. I’m interested to see what he says.

Then she'll have to find another brand name that sells correction makeup that's mainstream (and not the special effects makeup that comes in big bottles). At the time, and even now, not that many brands would sell a pocket size package to cover and cancel/neutralize every possible shade or bump on your face, which is necessary with bruises. Sometimes they are blue, sometimes green or red and that requires saturated well studied range of pigments.
I think they wanted to prove that she was very good with covering and making her supposed wounds invisible, which is time consuming and doesn't work with just any single concealer. It's possible and convenient if you have a pack that neutralizes all possible undertones, so they picked Milani brand.

I bet this was Amber advising her team about something she's good at (she's not!) and they trusted it (why?) instead of double checking with a pro makeup artist.

His lawyers in the Sun case released them, I believe. I read some somewhere that some were released by mistake in a massive document drop.

It was also a prop during opening arguments and not introduced as evidence. This controversy is entirely overblown.

Johnny Depp has a good sense of humor! You can tell he is also very patient.

This. He actually seems likeable and intelligent in these clips. But when he answers a fully question, he’s almost incoherent and rambling.

I find that he rambles some but is not incoherent. He answers the question in more of a storyteller manner.

You can tell that he does find some of this funny and sees the absurdity in some aspects

The age difference was huge. My take is that having lost his long term relationship w Vanessa Paradis, he was lost in a bit of a midlife crisis and trying to make this work.

Umm... you've heard of a thing called the opioid crisis? And you've never heard other moms "joke" about their xanax and ssri scripts? And all of the UMC wine drunks. I don't really think anyone is surprised to hear rich celebrities (and politicians!) are getting wasted.

Kind of off topic, but oxycontin and opiates are not apples to apples with SSRIs. But right, you didn't need to be a celebrity to become addicted to opiates prescribed by your doctor for pain. He ce why Purdue Pharma was slammed with lawsuits and the Sacklers are villified.
