Bunch of kill joys. Since Sister Mary said we can't have fun and talk trash I'll change the subject.
02s are made up of 8th and 9th graders 03's are made up of 7th and 8th graders 04s are made up of 6th and 7th graders 05s are made up of 5th and 6th graders With that said, I believe that your child should play with their classmates and not their age designation (Ex. 2005 6th grader should be playing 04 with 6th graders) What say you? |
^^^for the benifit of their development I shall add |
If you want to trash talk then start with mentioning what club your kid plays on. I think that would be fair. |
I don't think they will ever go to pro/rel but if they are ever going to be the best regional league they have to do something about clubs that are non competitive. There is not being concerned about winning and then there is getting blown out in every age group every week. How has that worked developmentally for the clubs getting blown out every week ? Are they better because of it ? If they get enough clubs in CCL and CCL2 to make it work then they should at least discuss pro/rel, otherwise what is the point of having two divisions. |
^^
There should be accountability to be competitive but several clubs simply don't judge success by the win loss record if U littles. If these clubs fail to field competitive teams at older, competitive ages, then you have a point but not the sub U13 ages. |
I just saw that Arlington 04 girls are now in first place in GotSoccer rankings, ahead of Loudoun, BRYC and FCV ENCL. |
Gotsoccer rankings are notoriously inaccurate except in a general sense (maybe +/- 20 positions or so). Just to show you how unreliable they rankings are, last years FCV NPL team is shown ahead of the FCV ECNL team. That team doesn't even exist anymore. The 0-14-1 Mclean ECNL team (Pre-ECNL really) is also ahead of the 4-7-4 FCV ECNL team. Should an ohfer 14 team in any league be the fifth place team in the state? |

Still wrapped up in your emotions. That MCLEAN comment must have struck a nerve. |
I think its hard to muster an argument that school age groupings are better for development, I think there are many other more important factors than that, coaching, club environment, coach/player ratio, competitive level, etc etc. I do think that school age groupings are better from a social point of view for players, particularly so as they age to high school age. Keeping fringe players in the game for social reasons won't be of value to the elite, but keeping players in the game period is a good thing in my book. |
So what is going on with McLean that they are so bad? The 14s and 15s look like bad records, but the 17s seem like they are doing well. Why is McLean not in the top 5 of the NoVA options? What is your big beef? |
Van Halen is the greatest band of all time, no matter who they put out in front |
I don't have a beef with them. Just throwing a jab to wake them up. Plus it's comical to see them get all worked up. McLean is a decent club. But they will probably lose kids to Spirit in the future if Spirit runs a good program |
Nope, my kid doesn't play for McLean but your "trash talk" is comically lame almost as if your kid doesn't play for any meaningful club at all. Please just go and sit down at the little table with the Vienna parents and shut up. |
Love watching the FCV and McLean parents rip on each other...this is a perfect example of the types of arrogant parents that both clubs have. They all think their kids are the next Messi or Hamm. Its also very typical of how they act on the sidelines when your team plays them. They both are sore winner and sore losers! |
