that's not news. We knew this last year, no? |
There are now apparently 5 DNA samples directly linking Wint to the murders.
http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Daron-Wint-to-Appear-in-Court-in-Brutal-DC-Mansion-Slayings-399003471.html A horrifying crime. Do you think it's possible Wint carried this out on his own? I'm torn. I believe he is evil enough, strong enough and has the fortitude. He is not very smart to have left so much DNA evidence. |
He probably thought the fire would destroy it. If no other DNA has been found, I would assume he was alone. |
Did they ever clear the personal assistant? Something about his involvement seems so fishy. |
The assistant and his mother have disappeared. No one, not even law enforcement know where they have gone. |
Very strange and creepy. Won't he be needed as a witness when this finally goes to trial? Not that his testimony is needed to put Wint away for life. Thank god for DNA evidence. I'm concerned that Wint's defense attorney would use this to his advantage. I would think the assistant would be desperate to help this family get justice!!!!! |
DC Public Defenders's office are among the very best litigators in the country. On par with the best money can buy. |
Says the DC public defense coalition. I'm Pretty sure that I could buy a better lawyer than a DC public defense lawyer. I'm fairly certain that given the choice between an established trial attorney and a public defender from the prestigious DC public defense pool, the choice would be obvious. Of course DC does so many things well, like public schools, policing, snow removal, etc. It only makes sense that their public defenders are the very best?. |
I don't think it's strange or creepy. Just read parts of this thread and plenty of people assume this (innocent) man had something to do with a horrific murder. In his place, I don't think I'd be very trusting of the investigators either. I'd be out of town, too. With my mom. He's under no obligation to let them know where he went. |
What's taking so long to put that guy away for life ??? |
Because the judge granted the defense request for more time to test the evidence. But maybe you should forward this thread to the judge and he will declare him guilty without a trial. |
In my class at Harvard Law School, the best and the brightest of the "public interest" types went to the DC public defense service. I'm not one of them myself but I have a very high opinion of the caliber of their attorneys. It's a prestigious gig. |
Hmm. I didn't hear of anyone in my class doing that. |
They are great lawyers with heavy caseloads. Of course you're better off hiring your own - not so much because your lawyer will necessarily be leagues better, but because (if you can afford it), they can spend way, way more time on you. In most criminal cases 100 hours' worth of a pretty good private attorney is going to beat 10 hours from an exceptional attorney. Not always, but at the discovery-intensive trial level, often. |
No, they went onto clerk for federal and SC judges. They also did DOJ Honors or went onto become AUSAs. |
