I’m getting a few laughs out of it too. Made today just a little brighter. |
Sorry, I forgot we are dealing with sensitive snowflakes. Somehow we lived through horrific videos of decapitated bodies flung out onto roads, limbs scattered about, all while juniors in high school. It did make me appreciate the importance of seatbelts. Would the kids prefer the real life scenario? |
Not Charlie’s life |
lol. I won’t even bother doing a real analysis. Please note, though, gang-related homicides does not mean gang on gang. It includes innocents. Here’s the chat GPT ——————————- Your breakdown of U.S. gun deaths by type contains several inaccuracies. Here’s a corrected and evidence-based breakdown: 🔍 Breakdown of U.S. Gun Deaths (2023) According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2023, there were 46,728 firearm-related deaths in the United States. The distribution was as follows: • Suicides: Approximately 58% (27,300 deaths) • Homicides: Around 38% (17,927 deaths) • Unintentional (Accidental) Shootings: About 1% (463 deaths) • Law Enforcement-Involved Shootings: Approximately 604 deaths • Undetermined Circumstances: Around 434 deaths ❌ Debunking Your Breakdown • 75% Gang-on-Gang: This figure is significantly overstated. Studies indicate that gang-related homicides account for about 13% of all homicides annually . • 5% Self-Defense: Self-defense gun use is extremely rare. Research suggests that defensive gun uses by private citizens are infrequent and not a common justification for firearm possession . • 1% Accidents: This is approximately accurate. Unintentional firearm deaths accounted for about 1% of all gun-related deaths in 2023 . • 8% Police Line of Duty: This is an overestimation. Law enforcement officers were involved in approximately 604 deaths in 2023, which is a small fraction of the total gun deaths . • 3% Mass Shootings (Over 1 Person/Non-Gang): Mass shootings, typically defined as incidents where four or more people are killed, account for less than 0.5% of all homicides in the United States . • 5%+ Self-Defense/Domestic Disputes: While domestic disputes are a significant context for homicides, self-defense situations are rare. The percentage of gun deaths resulting from domestic disputes varies, but self-defense incidents are not a major contributor to gun-related deaths Your estimates significantly overstate certain categories, particularly gang-related deaths and self-defense incidents. The majority of gun deaths in the U.S. are suicides, followed by homicides, with much smaller proportions resulting from accidents, law enforcement actions, and mass shootings. |
Don’t quit your day job PP. |
He killed a “MAGA” figure. He isn’t “MAGA” and his parents’ political affiliation doesn’t matter. Nor does them owning guns matter. Many people own guns and most adults are capable of buying a hunting rifle at any time they wish. This is 100% to do with whatever online gaming communities he was involved in that egged him on. The roommate seems to have been a part of that as well. If you seriously think Kirk was shot bc the killer didn’t find him to be “mega” enough, that is delusional |
The problem is that the shooter probably had NO political motive. The media and the public are desperate to pin this on a political motive. That makes it easier for our brains to compartmentalize and explain the act. No one wants to think about the possibility that the shooter simply did it for fun or as a way to "troll" the country because they get enjoyment out of simply pouring gas on a fire.
Surprisingly enough, most mass shooters in US history do not have political motivations. They are simply disturbed men with broken psyche. This kid spent wayyyyyyy too much time on the internet and playing video games. He spent way too much time on tiktok and 4chan. Just utter brainrot from the internet. But no one wants to admit this, because it implies our culture has gone down the tubes. It also implies it there is threat out there we can't so easily conteol be because it is politically agnostic. It could be anyone in the future that isn't so easily groupable because it wasn't politically motivated. That's a far scarier thought, because how many young Americans are out there now with brain rot due to too many video games or too many tiktok videos? |
You are okay with gun owners becoming suicidal and shooting themselves? I’m not. It’s not okay to shoot anyone not even oneself. Mental states fluctuate. |
Perhaps many of the young, right wing trans folks are spending most of their time online—gaming, on Discord, etc. Not going out much. |
Not really. Go read the news or get out of your bubble. Most people left, center and right did not hate Kirk. The small uninformed factions that hate Kirk are alt alt left. |
Honestly, last week that was true. People seeing his words all this week likely changed that. |
The roommate and online gamer group could have saved lives and turned him in beforehand. But they chose not to. Are they on suicide watch now and going to do due process? |
Agree. I don’t think it was politically motivated at all. Just a disturbed kid wanting attention from him internet friends |
Please cite real, verifiable sources for this. There certainly is plenty of evidence the far alt-right were after him. Where are the death threats from the "left"? Exactly WHO do you mean by "the left". Where did "they" call for his death, versus vehemently disagreeing with him. This is a huge accusation you are making. What is your specific and verifiable proof? |
I’m a center/left old lady and thought Kirk was a total tool. Watch him in action and you’ll agree. He was not polite just because he was clean cut and white. |
