This was 2019, was that eons ago for you? And this is about grandchildren, not even great grandchildren. Charles has already said he wants a slimmed down monarchy. I thought people wanted the monarchy to modernize, yet now people want to hold fast to old traditions that other monarchies don't even adhere to? A slimmed down monarchy is all the rage in Europe. |
Sounds like a plan! But since the Queen isn't likely to do it hopefully Charles can clean house and get things back in order. |
We'll see. Not many people have too much faith in Charles. |
There’s no love lost between Charles and Andrew. |
I hate to be maudlin, but as someone whose father died at 74, and whose Grandmother died at 100, I could see the Queen outliving Charles. And, I can't say that I would be sad that he hadn't gotten the chance to be King. Now, I would feel sad for his sons and grandchildren, of course. And his widow. However, I'm not certain he is well suited to the job of monarch. |
So....you think the Queen granted the HRH titles to all the Cambridge children was just for the hell of it? |
It would be the ultimate irony if Camilla did all that and never got to be Queen. |
Q Elizabeth father did not lived to 74... he was 57 when he died.. and BTW.. this is strange that Wiki does not know the exact birth year of him?.. what is that all about?.. George VI (Albert Frederick Arthur George; 14 December 1895 – 6 February 1952) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_VI |
That poster was talking about her own father and grandmother’s ages, not the BRF. |
Finally got some confirmed attendees. Fergie (ex-wife of Andrew) is not invited to the funeral. Three of Phillip's German relatives are coming - 2 great-nephews and a cousin. All of whom are the grandchildren of his three Greek sisters who married Germans during the war. They were not permitted to bring their wives. I've added Sarah Chatto and David Armstrong-Jones, Margaret's children, as they grew up around Phillip their whole lives. So.... The Queen Prince Charles Duchess Camilla Prince Andrew Princess Anne Capt. Lawrence Prince Edward Countess Sophie Prince William Duchess Kate Prince Harry Princess Eugenie Jack Brooksbank Princess Beatrice Edo Mozzelli Zara Tindall Mike Tindall Peter Phillips Bernhard, Hereditary Prince of Baden Prince Donatus, Landgrave of Hesse Prince Philipp of Hohenlohe-Langenburg Lady Sarah Chatto Viscount Linley Archbishop of Canterbury Pictured is Hohenlohe

That leaves 6 slots. I think 2-3 will be his longest serving staff or advisors. 1 could be a representative of the Greek royal family? If that's the case my bet's on Pavlos, Crown Prince of Greece. He's Marie-Chantal's husband.
Doesn't explain why the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom decided to not come if there's so many slots left. Are they including Edward's kids - Louise and James? They're old enough to attend as official representatives - at least Louise is. |

I think Edward's kids are definitely attending - added. All the grandchildren are. Updated to add them - leaving 4 spots.

| Clergy will not be included in the head count. |
| Someone mentioned Camilla. She will never, ever be queen, that has always been clear - she will be "Princess Consort". |
