And how did his daughter even know about Wilson as a school she wanted to attend? Sounds fishy to me.

Moving on, he had other options besides doing what he did.

It was on the Fox5 news. They are playing more of it in the 6 o’clock hour.

Wilson hasn't resigned yet and has a contract for another 11 months, until Jan 2019. Under the terms of his contract, he can't be forced to resign. If he decides to stay, he can. Nobody has his head on a silver platter yet.

I want him to go because he doesn't seem too sharp. DCPS schools EotP invariably have OOB waiting lists. It's a no-brainer that leapfrogging over hundreds of names on the list is surefire way to upset droves of DC parents who want to stay in the city but can't enroll their children at failing IB schools and feel good about the decision.

Fenty got flak for sending his twins to Lafayette OOB despite the long WL there, and Rhee's claims that they "went through the usual process" to be admitted. Wilson should have read up on Fenty's mistake and learned from it.

So, he could have put her in Dunbar!

This actually makes me feel for the guy. I would do anything for my kids.

I feel sorry for his too since I think it likely he will be forced to resign. It's a high price to pay. I was happy with him having to pull his child out and apologize. And right now my child is in a school where she is not thriving. I can't afford to move at all and could never afford to move WOTP. Every choice I am faced with is a bad choice. Still I feel sorry for him.

I didn't watch the interview and don't feel sorry for the guy. Supposedly his wife also works full time and I'm sure they will be absolutely fine if he is forced to resign. Who here hasn't had a child who went through an adjustment period at the beginning of the school year? Do we serve our kids best by being overly reactive and yanking them out of a school after only three weeks?
But his interview succeeded, now everyone feels sorry for him and doesn't want him to have to lose his job on top of everything else.

Don't people recognize when they are being manipulated??!!

You may want to confirm that it wasn't her intern saying that.

Did she say Antwan has a turkey neck too?

I mean her intern, of course.

So what happens to the new "Office of Integrity" he set up, can we trust it?

He kinda threw his wife under the bus in the second clip.

Obviously Wilson needs to go quickly. He was a problematic choice in the first place, and time has shown he is neither competent nor ethical. As bad as DCPS is, it deserves better than this guy.

That can't be right. There is almost certainly a provision that he can be fired for cause. Whether this is cause or not could be debatable. If he were terminated without cause, he would be owed his remaining salary and possibly more.

It may be costly to force him out (financially and politically) but he almost certainly can be forced out.

Yes. It was one of his talking points last year. Similar statement on the record: “You make the difference, you send your child to this DCPS school, you spend time meeting with school leaders and getting involved with the PTA...and your child will be successful,” Antwan Wilson said. https://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/news/loose-lips/blog/20993025/embattled-dcps-chancellor-last-fall-families-shouldnt-obsess-over-school-placement

Earlier in this thread there was a link to his contract.

He is owed a healthy severance if he is terminated without cause. He forfeits the severance if terminated for cause.

Based on his actions so far he may not be smart enough to offer to leave for a small buyout.
