The plane is in the ocean. There's no other plausible explanation. Why it's in the ocean is another question entirely.

A key distinction - whether the plane was flying in a straight line, or making turns/corrections/going around stuff.

If the plane was flying in a straight line, there could still have been a sequence of mechanical errors, or change in pressurization/loss of oxygen that incapacitated the pilots, making the plane just continue to fly on for hours and hours, until it ran out of fuel.

If the plane was making waves and maneuvering (say, after that initial turnaround), that suggests human manipulation.

I think at this point, after that first turnaround, it appears that the plane was flying relatively straight...

Why are they sending boats out to look for -- what? If there's any debris from the plane, wouldn't it be visible from satellite photos? Google Earth can take a photo of my car parked in my driveway, so surely satellite photos can find debris in the ocean.

Is it possible that the plane crashed into the ocean without breaking up and is now resting on the ocean floor relatively intact? Wouldn't that explain the lack of debris?

My theory is that the pilot turned the plane around because of some malfunction, but was overcome and passed out or died, and the plane kept going in the new direction until it ran out of fuel and fell into the Indian Ocean, where it will be discovered someday lying on the ocean floor, a la the Titanic.

If it were terrorism, wouldn't there be some sort of announcement from some terrorist group? There's been nothing. I'm guessing it's malfunction/pilot error/accident, nothing more sinister than that. So sorry for all the families. This must be absolute torture for them.

There have been explanations published stating why that wouldn't happen on a commercial airliner. There is more time on a commercial jet to get oxygen masks on.

It's been noted time and time again, that this isn't possible!!! The plane would have continued to send numerous signals as to it's location for hours.
