Not quite. He was on "America's Most Wanted".

The FBI has him on a longer list of people wanted for crimes against children.

Stop reading and go study grammar.

There's another thread that states that "apps were up" at Beauvoir this year.

They were. Not sure why they were up - but I have heard that on more than one occasion from reliable sources - people who would know.

more importantly why is there no news on this guy?

did the scandal change anyone's mind about going (or applying there)?

did the admin address it all during the process?

It didn't change my mind about whether to apply. The school had performed adequate security checks before hiring him and it was an unfortunate situation for all involved. I never felt it reflected poorly on the school. I certainly find it inappropriate to volunteer, "Guess what! We had a pedophile teacher here last year!" on a prospective parent tour.

Security check or no security check there were MULTIPLE red flags about this guy both in and out of the classroom and the school did nothing about it until the you know what hit the fan.

As a parent, this angers me to no end. The children he abused and their families will live with this for their rest of their lives. Unforgivable in my book.

During parent tours the AD did in fact share information about this unfortunate situation.

My son didn't get him for third grade nor did he attend any of his after school enrichment classes. However, the few times I chatted with this sick son of a bitch, he struck me as a jerk. My immediate reaction was that he didn't like children. I often wonder if faculty members had the same reaction to him as I did and didn't say anything. After this all came out, I kept hearing moms say that they thought he was such a nice guy and "my son really liked him." This whole thing just makes me so angry. My heart just breaks for the families who discovered that he inappropriately touched or photographed their child or webcaming him using the bathroom. How the hell do you ever forget something like that?

What happened is a terrible shame. However, good procedures help to prevent a repetition. Every State in the USA requires that schools do a background check on teachers and administrators. Most States have extended the background check requirements to any employee that is on the property when children are present. When I was a parent volunteer for our catholic school, all parents, coaches, and any volunteer had to get fingerprints and criminal record background search . Then we had to attend a seminar on the protection of children. And, that is repeated every year, just in case someone commits a crime since last year. College campuses give ID cards to each student and all personnel. The ID cards must be scanned before the student can enter a building.
