Got the eligible AAP letter today as well... 147 WISC, 2 letters of reference, and parent letter on appeal. |
Thank you! ![]() |
Awesome both of you! So glad that we take the chance and it works out. One never knows until we try. That's precisely what this has taught me. Do not give up. SKR |
IN . With good WISC and only 9 GBRS. so really score matter. |
Will my child get in with FSIQ 123 (94 percentile) and GBRS 10
Should I appeal? |
My kid got WISC-IV score 140 (VCI - 136, PRI - 135, WMI - 144, PSI - 109, FSIQ - 140) and GBRS - 8.
What are the chances of getting through the appeal. Thanks. |
I was hoping to see SKR again in here but that post was from last year. I'd be curious to see how her daughter is doing. Her kid got in with a 120 on the Stanford Binet with a GBRS of 9. This year- My kid has a 119 on the Stanford Binet with a GBRS of 10. Keeping my fingers crossed! |
What are the chance of my son making it in?
WISC IV VCI 130 PCI 123 WMI 126 PSI 126 IQ = 133 (very superior) |
The AAP program is for "gifted" children. These scores are good and you do have a bright kid but is not gifted. Please don't force your kids or they will turn into depressed teenagers later on. I do volunteer in the AAP class and I see the "average" kids who were pushed into the program and are struggling (now in 6th grade), rememeber that the program gets harder as they advance into elem classes. The classes become crowded only because parents think being in AAP is kind of social status, it is not, really leave your kids be happy. This is a bright kid who would do very well in gen ed which helps build his/her self steem and same kid would struggle in AAP which will destroy his/her self steem. |
PP - you are pompous aren't you? Crazy idea, perhaps the parent and the teacher will also know if and when AAP becomes burdensome to the child. |
Your PSA is pleading with pp to leave his/her child where he/she belongs in GE (as determined by you), but your "gifted" student is placed just right in that AAP class, right? Instead pp should "leave [his/her] kids be happy." Get over yourself. |
Yeah, get over yourself pp with the pompous PSA.
Do you know that your child can get into AAP and decide that it's not for your child and move them back to Gen Ed? Education is a long road and you can make adjustments as you go. The board decides if the kid should/shouldn't get in, not you! |
You could argue that the same mentality which leads to forcing the average child get into the AAP would also do anything to keep them in the program! Just saying... |
Wisc 147 BGRS 8 what are the chances on appeal? |
Will be in. |
