You have to parent refer. The pool is only for 2nd grade. |
Did anyone with > 130 WISC get rejected? Did anyone with < 130 get accepted? What WISC score seems to be fairly safe for acceptance? |
A previous pp said a WISC of 129 got in. |
Also, WISC 134 GOT REJECTED. Looks like VCI should be high |

Yes. You just parent refer with a new referral form, samples, etc. You also get a new GBRS for that year. Students may retake the CoGat one time, so many 3rd graders who did not make level IV but are level III or feel that they should be Level IV will retake the CoGat in the fall and apply again. I think you can apply all the way up through 5th grade, but it may be even higher. It probably states that info on the website. There are are often parents of students of all grade levels at the fall AAP info meeting at our school. |
Wisc 130 not in. |
Wisc 130 not in. |
Were other scores very low? What do you think is the reasoning? |

This is not really correct. Students may retake the CogAT one time PER YEAR, EVERY YEAR, but they may only take it one more time FOR FREE through the county. That is why many third graders do retake it in the fall (right after their second grade year) to try to use that score to reapply. |
Yes, yes, yes. I meant "under the lovely free system of FFX testing kids on the CoGat you get one in second grade and then one more try for free". |
Wisc 130 with gbrs 8. Got in |
