My grandparents used to live in AZ, and I was always shocked at how much really wild nature was a lot closer to their house. I know we live with deer, fox, etc close by in the dmv, but this was different. They had multiple cases of animal carcasses in their yard, on their patio, etc. They would not have been the least phased initially by some droplets of blood outside, if that was the only place this was. Also, when I visit my relatives house, I always enter through the side door. It could have been after they called that they even saw this.

Agree with this. I live near Nancy Guthrie and we have a TON of bobcats and coyotes and they kill things and make a mess. Rabbits and other small animals. Every single day, someone posts on next door mourning the loss of their little dog which was snatched from their yard. Usually by coyotes but sometimes by a bird of prey. Sometimes we find clumps of feathers strewn around the yard- obviously something happened. We really don’t think a whole lot of it. Blood droplets would not be all that alarming.

I hate this alarmist crap. There are very few raptors that would take a dog. People around here freak out over vultures which do not kill animals. They eat dead things. It's an important function and reduces disease. It would have to be an eagle to take a dog.

I have a four pound Chihuahua and I have to be very careful when I winter in Arizona. I can't just let him outside in a fenced off yard.

A normal person would be very uncomfortable in the circumstance with how much media publicity this has because of the famous sister . No matter how much pain or anguish you’re in and wanting to get your mother back, doesn’t mean you’re going to be comfortable speaking in front of a camera. It doesn’t mean you know something more, it doesn’t mean you think it’s a bad idea, these people are going through an intensely traumatic experience together, and to expect them all to be acting the same, all the siblings, is absurd. May none of you ever have to go through a traumatic experience in the public eye.

I've been biting my tongue because of the situation but Savannah Guthrie is really hard to like. I would hate to be the sister of someone who forces herself into the Golden Child costume like her.

Not the poster you are responding to, but she met her first husband while he was still married to another journalist, and he was not separated from that journalist. Savannah was allegedly well aware he was a married man.

This is just not true at all. I'm in the same circle as her husband and at the time overlapped jobwise. He was single for a while, and his friends were constantly trying to set him up. He may have been officially still married but that was only on paper and from the ex having a scummy lawyer, and it wasn't his decision to end that marriage.

Oh come on. The implication of the PP saying that "Savannah was allegedly well aware he was a married man" is NOT that he's a married man 3+ years into divorce proceedings that pre-dated her arrival on the scene.

And if the brother is particularly shy or uncomfortable with attention, he might especially feel awkward sitting next to his celebrity sister as she speaks so articulately. It is just not his thing to be in the spotlight but as much as SG is obviously destroyed by what is going on (it is gut wrenching to watch her in so much pain) she is extremely accustomed to and comfortable in front of cameras because that is what she does every single day. That the brother appears uncomfortable makes complete sense given the specifics.
