Trump is blocking a border deal in the Senate

It's squarely their mess. And now they're trying to blame it on the Republicans? Why should the Republicans help the Democrats when the Republicans have been calling out the Democrats' failures on the border for the last four years as well as the Democrats' failures to care about illegal immigration when Turnip was president and instead battle him every step of the way and undo everything Turnip did on the border, including stopping the wall.

Whatever. Democrats made it their problem and now they're squealing. I have no particular fondness of either party but in this instance the Democratic party is beyond insane and hypocritical and morally bankrupt.

Whatever. The GOP clearly wants problems at the border so they can cry and whine about it and try to use it to help their candidates.

Why should anyone expect republican legislators to legislate? That’s crazy talk! Their job is to go on Fox and bleat about the BORDER while doing nothing about it!

Narrator: The GOP had full control of the White House, Senate and House UNDER TRUMP and didn't even propose any legislation. Why blame the Dems? On three occasions in the last 15 years, there was a Dem in the white House a Dem Senate and a GOP House and in all circumstances, a bipartisan bill was agreed to and on all three circumstances, the GOP torpedoed it. Need 60 votes. Why didn't this happen under Trump/McConnell/Ryan? It could have happened under Obama/Schumer/Ryan and it could have happened under Biden/Schumer/Johnson.

The facts on the ground in 2024 are that if border security is your #1 issue, then you need to vote for Democrats. That's the party that's stronger on this issue. Republicans are the ones that want this chaos to continue.

What did Trump do when he was president? Build the wall - at least attempt to do so and got it started, despite FULL DEMOCRAT OPPOSITION. He cracked down on illegal immigration, sending out ICE teams to deport illegal immigrations, DESPITE FULL DEMOCRATIC OPPOSITION. Hello, sanctuary cities? Remember? Ranting and screaming about children in cages? Even though Obama did the same thing? LOL. Illegal migration fell sharply under Trump. Hugely. Enormously.

As soon as Biden took office, it exploded and now it's more illegal immigrants than most American states in just three years.

But it's all the Republicans' fault, am I right? Got it. We know. It's always the Republicans fault. Thank you for making that clear.

The Democrats made a stinking pile of mess and they are only freaking out because they've realized it may cost them the election. If Biden had a solid lead in the polls, they wouldn't even be doing this.

In short, intellectually and morally bankrupt party that doesn't care for the people it's supposed to serve but the interests of a monied left wing policy class. No wonder why all the working people are flocking to Turnip.

He started to build pieces of a wall, which were easily scaled by people attempting to come over (there are many videos of this).

He had the House AND Senate for approx. 2 years of his presidency and did not change any legislation to address immigration (or health care or really anything else.).

There is someone morally bankrupt here but it is the lying sacks of sh-- like you.

Trump was able to get his priority - tax cuts for the billionaires. Had the border been a policy priority he would have gotten that. It’s too good an issue that riles up the base to actually do something. Kinda like abortion. It was a great issue to rile the base, not a great issue to run on.

Oh, and we’re still waiting on the Big Beautiful Healthcare plans. Thanks god for Biden or else we’d still be waiting on Infrastructure Week.

He spent $6 billion on part of a wall that 1) has already rusted out and fallen over in many parts 2)was easily scalable by a ladder and 3) did nothing to stem the actual problems. It was a monument to racism and xenophobia. He could easily have spent that money on the things called for in this bill that actually would have made a difference.

read it and weep. maybe someday you will wake up from the fog to understand where the issue actually lie

Republicans passed HR2 in May. Chuck Schumer won’t bring it to the Senate floor for a vote.

So let’s stop with the lie that Republicans won’t do anything about the border.

None of this matters if people are going to be attacked by gangs of migrants for their cell phones, resulting in being dragged, their bank accounts drained etc. They will vote for the party that will make it stop. It was a Republican mayor that cleaned up NYC the first time things got really bad. So current Democrats in office, in all cities, should be sure to focus on lowering crime (DC, I’m looking at you) so ALL residents feel safe.

There you have it folks. Anything that addresses the problems of the American people would be helping the democrats, so republicans won’t do it. Their job is to own the libs, not to fix problems for you and me. Vote accordingly.

I have to laugh because Biden literally took the immigration issue away from Trump and the GOP. Now he looks like the tough one on immigration. Say what you want about Biden, but he played this brilliantly.

Yep, and now the right wing propaganda machine is desperately trying out different messaging to try to justify it.

HR2 was a messaging bill. They knew when they passed it that it had no chance of becoming a law. Were you complaining when Mitch McConnell refused to bring the For the People Act to the floor in 2019?
