But didn't they already hold tryouts this week? So presumably they've already made at least some offers and are asking people to accept them. Even if I know who is going to coach my team, I still don't know where I'm going to practice so it seems like you'd be taking an awfully big risk accepting an offer unless you're willing and able to drive anywhere in NoVA for practice. Logistically, that would seem tough for a lot of people. |
No - tryouts are still upcoming. |
Dom is coaching GA1 teams? |
|
Confirmed.
They haven’t had ID sessions this year. I don’t know what they will do. They didn’t have ID sessions in past years either. New players would just come to practice and BP or CC would evaluate them and move on from there. So what happens this year? The coaches at practice will be at Revolution and VDA in a matter of weeks. How do you have new players at practice knowing that? What are they going to do if your DD is really great, or not as great? What are CC and BP supposed to say? Thanks for coming to a FCV session. Your DD is really great. Join us at Revolution or VDA. |
It sounds like they need 2024/25 coaches running tryouts. How is that going to happen? |
Hopefully not. |
Agree. And they need to hold tryouts somewhere other than Revolution for obvious reasons but where that would be, I don't know. Hanson? Bles? Rent out nZone or the Fieldhouse? |
Obvious reasons? |
Well, because most of the former/current FCV coaches are at Revolution now. If you're an existing FCV player who told your current coach that you were coming over to Revolution but then decided that you wanted to see for yourself what the situation with TSJ FCV was going to be, you probably don't want to be attending said tryout at the Sportsplex in full view of everyone.

Confirmed by email to 2012 parents. Is he. It a good coach? |
| No. |

DR is very green as far as figuring out how he will apply what he's learned with all the work he's put in educating himself. He clearly has the licenses and has put in the work off the field to progress himself but as a parent I'd be concerned about his lack of on the field experience with a team that's supposed to be performing at a high level.
One of those cases like in many other careers where you still need to put the time in and learn your own style or way of managing/handling a team. He's been an assistant to a lot of teams and has headed a few of the GA2 teams. Not a huge sample size to go off of currently with his own actual teams he heads but he could be a great coach with more time. |
It’s not like he needs to figure out how to run things on his own. He’ll be a staff coach implementing the new director’s system, something he’s accustomed to as assistant coach. |
| Does the club actually have a system? |
A payment system, yes. |
