Prince Harry and Meghan in Near Catastrophic Car Chase in NYC

Anonymous
A more skilled PR form would have "leaked" / shopped the story to a media source rather than issuing a direct statement which makes it so clear that they are drawing attention to themselves.

If it was truly this multihour car chase of celebrities, there would be press clamoring for a story (and already aware without this self-important statement).

For real. I have no strong opinion on Harry and Megan but they don’t deserve this much attention, good or bad. For everyone claiming they’re sick of them, you could try and not react to their next publicity stunt? I promise that if all of the haters ignore, they’ll eventually go away. You really don’t have to throw a fit just because Megan was photographed on a hike.

Last time they came up I did a deep dive and found the Reddit snark page for Markle. That’s a really dark place, and it seems to circulate a lot of the misinformation around the couple. So bizarre to see people here using their talking points.

You mean outright lies. And crazy crazy stuff. It's literally now a hobby, in the same way when we see that a celebrity has died the comments are filled with anti vaxx stuff, and whole subReddits on it.
So, there it is. There's now actual social media outlets designed (and not by her or Harry or any press team, just hobbiest amateurs, like Matta_of-Fact) solely to debunk the lies and rumor spreading about Meghan, among other royal things - with real facts and receipts.

That ridiculous; what would they possibly say? Gimme a break.

They aren't upset. You literally just made that up.

Wow. Public opinion of them in the US has really changed. At the time of Oprah ppl were just lapping up everything they said.

Not true. They are hated here by online troll and monarchists there. The account here is being twisted, no mention of chase before cab ride, twisted words ( no one ever said high speed chase), etc. They didn't do anything wrong. They were chased, they didn't want people at their door step, they didn't exaggerate anything. But all the trolls are. The interesting thing isn't the incident, it's the aftermath, just like the book. It's you, not them. You'll eventually get tired of it. Now go watch Kate play the palace piano for 30 seconds in a gown. Then go get a hobby.

Huh? The whole thing started because of their *own* statement about a “near catastrophic car chase”:

”Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” the couple’s spokesperson said.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers.”

And it was accurate. Note all the hyperbole trolls put in that wasn't actually ever in the press release. No high speed chase. Yes, it was 2 hours, yes there were 2 NYPD officers. No one there were actual collisions. You are accusing them of lying about things that were never said.

But why issue the statement if the first place? They want the world to know about their suffering and most people are getting sick of it.

Because it took 2 hours, a second car, and a trip to the police station, Einstein. Can you read?

They did say it was "near catastrophic". You want hyperbole? This is it.

All three entirely unforced due to poor judgment.

Trying your patience? How odd.

You are fully capable of ignoring threads about them, not thinking about them, and saving yourself the emotion of being angry about them.

You don’t do that because you enjoy shit posting about them. At least, admit that.

I promise you that well-adjusted people don’t go looking for people who “try their patience.”

Huh? I only read about them here on the entertainment forum. I’m merely commenting on the thread, and obviously it’s hyperbole, but your reaction seems odd, too.

None of this really matters.

Of course the Royal Family did not issue a statement. They also didn’t issue a statement when Spare was released. Their PR strategy - don’t engage, don’t challenge - is actually really smart. They are not willing to give H & M any more drama, any more content.

You’re also here on page 40.

Your obsession with Harry and Meghan entertains me.
