Mexico is not going to build any facilities. They do not want them there. 80% of the current wave are from Venezuela, with the second largest # coming from Ecuador. Mexico wants the migrants to pass through. If they stay in Mexico, they will be stuck there and the MX gov't will have to deal with it. Better to let them move north to the US.
Unfortunately, we have given 500K Venezuelan migrants TPS, which sucks becuase now they'll be here forever. We have no way of conducting background checks on these individuals, and VZ currently has the highest murder and crime rates in all of Latin America. This absolutely sucks.

The sisters, asylum seekers staying at the Hotel Mint JFK Airport in Far Rockaway with their family, were playing in the hallway around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when the sicko convinced them to follow him to a room on the second floor, according to the sources.

He then placed a knife against the neck of one of the girls and touched her private area, the sources said.

When the twins’ mother knocked on the door, the perv jumped out the window, the sources said.

The creep then walked back into the building through the lobby, where he was confronted by the young victim’s older brother — and a fight ensued.

Cops broke up the brawl and arrested the alleged child molester, according to the sources. Charges against him were pending Thursday. His name was not released by the NYPD.

You have no idea how common this crap is. Most of the migrants from Central/South America are low income, low education and high crime. Sexual offenses against women and children is high up there. Having worked in immigration myself, I saw a lot of it, and I was always amazed at how they could request relief despite assault charges. I stopped working in removal defense. Couldn't take it.

And see, this is my point exactly. I am a democrat that thinks we have a responsibility to help many, many more people coming to the US. At the same time, it is not ethical to expect ONLY the states that share a border with Mexico to be the ones to bear the burden. It must fall on all of us. There are humans who need our help. We all must help financially, physically, etc.

It is not a stretch to say that Trump did a much more effective job than Biden on this issue.
I have no doubt he can do it again. He will begin by enforcing our current immigration laws. And, supporting border patrol.

There is a massive backlog for hearings because Republicans refuse to provide the funding for more judges and officials to examine asylum claims. Over 80% are not legitimate asylum claims. Nor will they reform the visa program to allow needed workers to legally come and live here and work here on the books.

Why won't Republicans provide the funding to expedite, staff up and expel the 80% that are illegitimately here, or help solve any of the other problems? It's almost as though they are going out of their way to worsen the crisis.

This is the GOP way. All they care about is power. So when they don’t have power, instead of working toward improving our country, they interfere with any progress or positive change for political points and revel in any opportunity to make the democrats look bad instead of doing any meaningful work that helps our country. It’s all about what benefits them.
