Ask those on the left who used the Bot issue to claim those on the right didn’t exist. It’s in the articles. |
The Pew Research article is pretty in-depth. |
We all know that Musk will either expose Twitter for their lies in SEC filings or open source algos to preserve a free society. |
Lol. |
At what point does the SEC step in? Musk must think he's above the rules |
Elon is married to Grimes, named one of his children X Æ A-Xii, said he would take Tesla private at 420 a share (a pot reference for you DC squares), and smoked a joint live on air with Joe Rogan while musing about aliens and DMT. Dropping a poop emoji a week after he said he was going to take over Coca Cola so that he could put cocaine back in the soft drink was not him having a “psychological break.” It’s him acting like he always has. And apparently it’s worked. When the uptight naysayers on here revolutionize the electric vehicle industry and secure government space flight contracts maybe they can scoff at his behavior. But he’s such a game changing figure because of this type of behavior. If he wasn’t the character he’s always been he’d probably be right here with you and I tossing barbs from the sideline while we rake in a safe salary at our boring jobs. Where were all of these criticisms years ago when he was making Teslas? It’s so odd that people just started turning on him when he wanted to take over Twitter and not be so censorious. A lot of people are very afraid of not having the final say over who gets to say what on social media and it’s very telling. |
As do a lot of billionaires and rich people in general. Where was all this criticism when Bezos took over, and ruined, the WP? |
There is a liquidated damages clause - he's on the hook for 1B because that's what the twitter board agreed to |
He’s not married to Grimes. He’s an unpredictable nut. It’s one thing for an unpredictable nut to build a car company. It’s another to run an important platform. |
I agree! This is why all social media platforms should be reclassified as public utilities and all speech on there should be regulated by a government entity that is abiding by an impartial legal framework, which is adjudicated in the court system. That means if Hunter’s laptop stories are banned, so are pee tape stories. Users should only lose their rights to post when they break existing laws or are banned after a court hearing. These platforms are much too important to be operated by people who aren’t bound by any regulations. |
Whatever happens will be a fiasco but he’s a rich asshole so he will walk away relatively unscathed. The whole premise is idiotic. You can’t have an unmoderated platform because the world is full of frauds and sadists and evil assholes who would abuse it and dominate it and the platform would rightly have some liability. Twitter was very slow to respond. Musk is so full of himself he can’t see that almost all of the complaints about “censorship” are bad faith from bad actors. |
Elon fanbois are wild. |
Agree. And bring back the Fairness Doctrine. |
He didn't build a car company, either. Tesla, inc. was already built when he invested in it. |
That only applies if the deal is terminated for certain specified reasons. There is also a specific performance clause that would allow Twitter to force Musk to close the merger at the agreed-upon share price if none of he break clause conditions are triggered. Realistically, Twitter is going to actually force the deal to happen, but would more likely negotiate a premium beyond the break clause provision to mutually terminate the deal. |
