2024 parent here. What makes for a good recruiting director? How much of it is up to player/parents to promote their kid vs. the club/recruiting director? Thanks in advance for any insight.

It is both. A good recruiting director lets the kid know what they need to do and will reach out to their contacts to push when necessary. They will also guide you towards schools that are a good fit athletically and academically. But the kid and the parent still need to have honest conversations about the schools they fit with and manage highlight videos and contact with schools. The kid should lead the outreach but the recruiting director should strongly guide them and help if it is getting close.

A good recruiting director should also be able to gather meaningful intel on where your kid ranks on the targeted school's list - top tier, second tier, not on the radar, etc. That feedback can inform your strategy on which schools to focus on, camps to attend.

A bunch of great schools. More of a mixed bag when it comes to lacrosse programs/success. Hope the girls are happy know matter what happens w lacrosse.

Northwestern has won multiple national championships and is usually ranked #1-4. UVA, Princeton, Richmond, GT, Michigan are all top 25 lacrosse programs and the others could be there in any given year.

Michigan is somewhere between 40 and 50, so no, not a top program. And it is worth pointing these things out in a thread that is talking about Capital lacrosse recruiting. It's valid to point out that there is a pretty big handful going to average programs. Great schools and maybe the players chose for reasons other than lacrosse. But being recruited to Michigan doesn't signify top player from top program. Same for Cincinnatti. Again, valid points in a thread boasting about recruits.

This didn't age well...Michigan made the NCAA tournament and beat Notre Dame 17-11

Well, I would certainly hope these amazing Capital players are committing to schools that at least make the tournament. That's not saying that much.

Of the 8 remaining schools in the Women's NCAA tournament - there are very few local DMV girls on the rosters. There are 2 UNC girls and 2 Loyola girls. There is '22 commit to BC and a '23 commit to NW.

Not following here, but it seems like a Baltimore/HOCO parent continually shading DMV players/commits for not playing for only top 5 schools? If that is the case, that parent should be embarrassed and move on....these are children.
