So how were the recruiting sidelines in NC last weekend? VDA would have put out photos and an infographic by now.

I think the previous year was high 70% ECNL vs mid 20% GA so it tracks last year's numbers.

Stats I’ve seen are 60% ecnl 20% ga 5% ECRL 5% other 10% international

No wonder ECNL is panicking, they’ve dropped 10% in one year.

how 80% of D1 are from ECNL. that 60% is not right. but go one.

the amount of coaches at the nc showcase this past weekend was dismal. not one 1 field I saw with more than 5 coaches. pretty sad.

With so much video footage going in person probably seems inefficient use of time to college coaches.

The broader economic uncertainty right now is impacting athletic department budgets, which limits travel and recruiting spend. At the same time, college rosters are tightening due to scholarship constraints and roster caps, so coaches are being more selective about where they go in person. Also with more players coming from overseas it naturally reduces the number of domestic events.

I’m sure you’ll start to see a year-over-year decrease in ECNL showcase attendance as well, as these same pressures aren’t specific to one platform they’re affecting the entire recruiting landscape.

Good turn out, handful of east coast based P4s and some midwestern ones. Smaller regional D1s represented well also along with D3.

Did you try going to a u16 or u17 field?

sure pal. the turnout was terrible. pull up the veo's and check out the sidelines. empty. never saw more than 5 coaches on a field. it was noticeable.

my daughter plays on a u17 pretty good team. the turnout at the spring showcase has always been bad. not sure why they have it. I saw many u19's with only 11 or 12 players. really too late in the game for these kids and many of them over soccer since they are about to graduate and don't want to travel. play was very poor. its getting even more noticeable. not sure if its the coaching or the players.

Even if these numbers are true, it’s odd to read a triumphant GA bot post that ECNL is *only* 60% when GA is 20%.

I wonder if 28 player rosters, transfer portal players, and international players. Are all lowering demand from college coaches.

I doubt international players are impacting college recruiting in a noticeable way.

Are we to expect a reduced number of scouts at the ECNL NC event?

international players really affect the mens side, women's side not so much. however, the increase on the women's side is something to keep an eye on as it is slowing increasing.
