That, to me is just not credible.

What is she saying?

She basically said she believes CBF. That she’d have to be a hell of an actress.

Right. Do you know how hard it would be to tell a fake story, over and over, and have these questions asked, over and over, that are designed to trip you up? She'd have to be some evil genius.

Not to mention she nuked her own life. Why would she do that with a made up story??

Let's take a step back here. What a sickening display going on here. What an embarrassment for our country. The Supreme Court will never be the same again. Neither will Congress and it's integrity. And, after our President's press conference yesterday, it is clear Trump is setting the tone that has fueled the discourse. As an American I'm wholly mortified by our political system today. People, the world is watching us and I'm thinking they are not "laughing with us" but laughing at us. Seriously, I'm afraid for all of us.

It’s not that hard. This is not a very complex story at all. You guys don’t know enough liars.

But WHY? There is no plausible reason why.

She did not want her parents to know what happened. She would have been in a world of trouble for drinking with boys in a house with no adults present. She wanted to pretend that it never happened. She detailed all of this

So she greets him? I'm sorry but I would not say "hello how are you to my attacker"

She was a kid, she didn’t want anyone to know what happened, and she had a long road ahead of being in the same social circle as those boys. She wanted to move forward as if nothing had happened, so saying hi really is not that odd.

Her parents nor other family members have been supporting her. That is very telling. I would say she's been nuking her own life for years. I don't think she's mentally well.

I'm sorry but that is total BS.

I believe she has been traumatized by something. Do you know mentally ill people? She says she didn’t want attention but she seems to be enjoying herself to me. I don’t know what dysfunction was in her family. People latch on to and project all sorts of memories onto people. The fact that she’s a professional person with a lot of education says nothing about her mental stability.

This is not regular life lying. This is lying that's being picked apart by a prosecutor. If you can't recognize that, you're insane.

She's not going to get anything from Ford. It's almost like she is gearing up or fishing for a "catch you in a lie" question, and it's making Ford look highly sympathetic. Plus, Mitchell is not managing her time well by digging into details and asking question after question and then getting interrupted by her time being up. Mitchell is swimming in this so far and she is drowning.

I agree with this analysis. I'm a lawyer and a female. And, I think this prosecutor is actually too pleasant and too considerate of Ford. And, I'm a liberal Dem.

Female litigator here (just wills and trust these days) I hope I'm wrong but she is trying to trap her. Lead her down the garden path, as old Professor Greenhalgh used to say. I am concerned that Ford will become fatigued and weep openly. I know that I wept as she spoke.

The job is to get the truth out there. If that makes her weep, so be it. Every time she was asked a question, she had to refer back to notes, change details, etc.

Teach your kids to speak up when they are the target of assault, or witnesses anything that's not right.

Are you people doing this?

Guess what is the BEST way to teach them?

Believe victims who come forward. If we changed our reactions to victims coming forward it would DRAMATICALLY change the reporting stats.

+1,000,000
Well said.

And once more for the people in the back.

How are we supposed to believe the victims when women clearly lie just as often as men? Did you not see the Brian Banks case that was just resolved? He served 6 years in jail for a rape he didn’t commit and had his whole life ruined. That is a good reason to take a step back in these situations I’d say

Women "clearly lie just as often as men" what does that mean? At least 60% of sexual assaults are not even reported. Of the 40% that are, a small percentage are identified as unfounded, of which false allegations are an even more minuscule percentage.

So no, people who report sexual assault (be they women or men) are lying in an incredibly small amount of cases.

I did. For two long years.

I question your emotional stability for that. Seriously. That's very odd.

Another lawyer here. This Mitchell thing is a huge mistake. She's supposed to poke holes in Ford's story, but it's not working because Ford is smarter than her and an extremely precise witness.
