Not only do you think it’s okay to spread rumors that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted someone in high school but now you want to spread rumors that it’s standard behavior for boys at like Landon and Prep to sexually assault girls. Good grief, you are sick. And no, I’m not associated with either of those schools in any way. And I’m a moderate registered Democrat who feels like she’s lost her party.

It’s not rumors, it is allaegations. Perhaps you should actually read the article.

“Allegations” made by some anonymous person who curiously has come out of the woodwork after 30 years. And it doesn’t even sound like she is alleging something illegal. A boy tried to kiss me in high school!!!

Yep. I remember something similar happening to me at that age. I'm not about to dredge it up now, 30 yrs. later. This is beyond idiotic.

Maybe you should. It sounds like you still have some open psychological wounds that haven't healed.

There needs to be far more nuanced view here. A single incident from 30+ years ago should not destroy anyone's life, whether male or female. Being a Democrat, I am no fan of Judge K or of how the Republican Senate treated Garland. I no doubt would vote against him if I were a Senator. But everybody has gone too far here. There is a huge difference between what we think Judge K did today, what Bill did over decades, and then what Donald did over decades. Huge range of behaviors. I do not where the line is, but it is not at zero. Take the Duke lax scandal. As it turns out, the boys did not do what everybody was screaming about. But what is acknowledged is that a college lax team hired a stripper for a team party. That itself is inappropriate, though not illegal. The screaming around that scandal was overblown, and ignored what we know really happened.

Oh look, another one of those "I'm a Democrat but..." posts.

We all know you're a pro- Kavanaugh shill so just cut the crap. An attempted sexual assault is no comparison to hiring a stripper for a party - don't even try to justify it.

My DH went to one of these schools in the early 80's, and partied with this crowd when Prep was known to be the worst of the worst. We know a woman who was approached to sign the "good character" letter and refused. Kavanaugh was the quiet, smart guy who hung back, but watch out when he was drinking. At Yale he was part of drunk boys frat. I have no doubt that other women have stories about him.

And presumably you would have voted not only to impeach Bill but to convict Bill. Same with Franken? What about Ellison from MN? Same? BTW. I am local as well (Big 3) and knew/know many GP guys. And what about the "mean" girls who mistreat their classmates? How should that behavior affect their careers, 30 years later? What about the high school kid who "borrowed" something from a store in a single incident? Or forgot to pay for my drinks at a bar? Get real! Frankly, someone who has done nothing stupid or wrong over 30 plus years would worry me more.

DP. So you're not really a Democrat, you were just posing as one?

Sounds like just another Trump troll trying to pretend attempted sexual assault is the same thing as mean girl behavior or shoplifting.

Nope. I am a confirmed Democrat. Voted Democratic in over 95%, in all elections. Occasional $ contributor to Democrats. Federal and state. Most everybody who knows me knows that I am a Democrat. Worked on a few D campaigns. Sorry. My question is should Bill have been convicted in the Senate? What he did was far worse and lasted for decades. Should Franken have resigned? And what about Senator Kennedy? What we know NOW about Judge K is that he did something stupid in high school. There is no even allegations NOW that, unlike Bill or even Donald, this behavior was regular and ongoing, whether physical or verbal. I ask again what about the "mean" girl treatment that daughters of my friends have received around town. And I know that some of the girls that moved in these same circles with Judge K fell into that "mean" character. Sorry. I was in those circles. Attended 2 of Big 5.

An anonymous accusation is not the same as credible. You get that, right?

FBI rolls eyes, says whatever and tucks claim away in a folder. Done.

Now, time to vote.

Sounds lime she's alrwady been hurt. And if she makes her identity known, she will get hurt even more. Look what happened to Roy Moore's victims. What hurts women is being sexually assaulted, then being told to shut up about it. Anyways, she's lawyered up, so she isn't completely anonymous.

Absolutely. The Democrats cannot be rewarded for pulling eleventh hour dirty moves like this. They need to learn this kind of crap will not be tolerated. Take the vote as scheduled.

So, you would have convicted Bill, Franken, Kennedy?? You are avoiding the question. There is a line. We can debate that line, but there is a line. Personally, absent more info, I am not obsessed about this single incident, 30 years ago. Separately, I would still vote against Judge K if I were a Senator, for other non-character reasons.

Easy response. I assume Republicans have no standards. Not worthy discussing. If that tribe has revealed anything over the last 2 years, it is that they are rampant hypocrites, lacking any morals or principles. The Christian right are nothing more than hucksters. We Democrats do have standards, and we generally enforce them even against our own. All good. But we risk going too far. No one is perfect. Everyone has done something stupid or wrong in their lives. If not, then I would probably would not want them on the Court anyhow.

Franken didn't lure a girl into a bedroom and assault her. He took a picture that alluded to sexual contact...but he didn't actually touch her. And the conservative operative who alleged inappropriate kissing during a consensual, staged bit during a show should never have been taken seriously.

Yes, Ted got into a terrible wreck due to his own negligence and left a girl to die. He should have served time for that. He got a free pass because of his family name and power. Kinda like Kavanaugh. I think he got a free pass just like the other rich asshat jocks at Prep, Gonzaga, GC and SJC I knew back in the day who raped girls for fun at keg parties back in the day.
