New Year Eve's Coordinated Sexual Assault Attacks in Cologne

Well let"s be fair to the cops. They felt it would be "politically awkward" to get too tough on this group as word previously had come down from the highest levels of government that they were invited in and welcome due to all they had gone through to get there

There are some messed up priorities right now in Germany.

They just fired the police chief of Cologne for the poor handling of NYE. Other cities were more prepared and didn't get out of control the way Cologne did. It isn't accurate to compare the handling of a protest that is known about ahead of time to a mob situation that was a surprise to everyone in Cologne, and draw conclusions about priorities.

At the point that their own policewoman was sexually assaulted by this group of animals, they should have called in massive support. To passively sit back and let is happen was an enormous failure for Germany. Then to turn around and use massive force on those simply protesting this horrid assault on women is simply abhorant.

I read about the water canons. From what I understand at that point the state police were called in for the demonstrations And they don't f around. Only the cologne police were present during NYE and they were woefully unprepared

Then the instant they realized it was a massive rape and assault situation they should have called in the state police. They had no tear gas to disperse the NY eve crowd? Really? Yet they tear gas and water cannon those protesting the assault?

Tear gas and water cannons for those citizens using words and signs but passive observation for 1000s of men ripping clothes off women, raping them in the street and sexually assaulting them?

Something very, very wrong is happening in Germany right now.

You know what, I agree. Germany has fed the whole thing up. From the police first declaring the celebrations were peaceful, to media active suppression of the assaults, to the rape apologist mayor who suggested a code of conduct for women, to now water canons on protestors. The entire reaction from authorities has been a clusterf. And if it means progressive politicians in the US would act the same way not to protect women in a similar situation, I am starting to see Trump's appeal.

The new York Times wrote a really interesting piece explaining rape and islam. basically New York Times on Sex Slavery in Islam: “the Quran not only gave [ISIS] the right to rape — it condoned and encouraged it” basically you are allowed and encouraged to rape non believers

I remember that horrific article. That was a real rape culture, Isis fighters quoting Koran while forcing themselves on children. They have an entire manual on ownership and treatment of their female slaves now. Now that is a true rape culture

I am reminded of the parable of the farmer and the viper. So the farmer finds a frozen snake, he warms him up, feeds him and then the snake gives the farmer a mortal bite. And the farmer asks incredulously "why did you do that after I saved your life" and the snake says "well you knew I was a snake when you picked me up."
Merkel just didn't think through all the likely consequences of inviting this particular group in.

bottom line -
There's NO excuse for rape or any form of sexual assault.

It's one thing to introduce new immigrants to the ways of a new culture - but quite another to overlook that certain cultures are indeed rape cultures. Therefore, these animals (yes, animals) should be stopped before entering or sent back immediately.

It's easy to be PC about this when it doesn't affect you or your friends and family. But if it hits home, would you still be wearing your PC glasses?

This discussion was always pretty close to Islamophobic, but has really gotten out of control on the last couple of pages with posters talking about "rape cultures" and "mass rape". I am not going to allow my website to be used for that type of hate speech. Maybe that makes me an "apologist for rape" which seems to be the definition here for anyone who doesn't want to immediately deport all Muslims. Regardless, this thread is done.
