New Year Eve's Coordinated Sexual Assault Attacks in Cologne

They're so naive. And unprepared.

Did Germans not realize that it takes decades - even centuries for cultures to change ingrained attitudes? Women's rights as they are known in the West came as the result of centuries of struggle. Why do European immigration advocates think that acceptable attitudes to women and other progressive attitudes can be taught to people from societies where none of these are present. I defies logic to think that Germans and Swedes are under the impression that centuries of attitudes towards women's position in society and sexual attitudes of males can be changed with a weekend course in European culture.

Europe's liberals are simply rolling back decades of struggle.

German police are investigating reports that scores of women were sexually assaulted and mugged in Cologne city centre during New Year’s Eve celebrations, in what a minister called a “completely new dimension of crime”.

Between 500 and 1,000 men described as drunk and aggressive are believed to have been behind the attacks on partygoers in the centre of the western German city. Whether they were working as a single group or in separate gangs remains unclear.

“Sexual crimes took place on a huge scale,” said the police president, Wolfgang Albers. “The crimes were committed by a group of people who from appearance were largely from the north African or Arab world

One of the victims, identified only as Katja L, told the Kölner Express: “When we came out of the station, we were very surprised by the group we met, which was made up only of foreign men … We walked through the group of men, there was a tunnel through them, we walked through … I was groped everywhere. It was a nightmare. Although we shouted and hit them, they men didn’t stop. I was horrified and I think I was touched around 100 times over the 200 metres.”

No clue what's coming.

Where were the police? How could they allow this large a group of men to gather?

Sickening, but predictable. This is a culture clash between Western and Arab values.

Problem? What problem?

+1. It seems like it's always abuse and discrimination against women that Western society is willing to tolerate.

The hyperbole in this thread is strong. First of all, so far all you have is rumors. And a picture of some "foreign" (aka not Arian) looking people gathered in a train station on NYE (which is bound to be incredibly crowded anyway). I have lived in Europe for many years and what is being described has been done by gypsies for many years (who, btw, are Christian). I also recall a few incidents involving teenagers doing the same thing in the US, even recently. So until we know more, I suggest not accusing the segment of the population that fits your narrative.

Isn't that why this is so newsworthy? It wasn't a few incidents, it was 80 women, or at least that was the number who called the police about it. That's much more than a "few incidents".

You must not have seen the numerous reports from both left wing and right wing sources verifying the truth of this. And a few incidents involving teenagers is nothing like coordinated attacks across 3 German cities involving 1000 men.

I've never heard of gypsies gang raping. I've only heard of gypsy children stealing.

On a side note, I am so over men. They cause so many problems and so much violence in this world.

The amazing thing is that Europeans would not tolerate this behavior from their own Western men. It would be immediately and rightly condemned by all but when the perpetrators (rapists, molesters, daughter killing fathers, etc) are Middle Eastern then modern Europeans go out of their way to make excuses like, 'They need classes to teach them German culture', 'They have different cultures we need to understand.' No, this isn't a matter of understanding it is a matter of acceptable behavior and flooding your country with people whose cultures have completely missed the social struggles of Western societies post-1900. In Germany this behavior is especially pronounced because Germans are still desperate to show the world that they are not Nazis - 'See, we are not Nazis or terrible racist Americans because we welcome everyone from every backwards village from the Nile Delta to rural Syria and Anatolia."

No we accuse our own Western men of rape if they should even dare give a neckrub, wolf whistle or drunkenly hookup with a woman. But outright sexual assault by foreign men are excused in the name of cultural tolerance and diversity.

Is there any proof that they were refugees?

look, is not that Germany, or any other country in Europe (except maybe Sweden) invited millions of refugees/immigrants into their country. scores of immigrants arrived and Germany and Europe are trying to deal with the problem. hundreds of thousands arrived on foot, they are still arriving by the thousands when many thought that the freezing winter weather would slow the influx down significantly. A big problem is that Europe is still a collection of states. there is no central army or central control of borders. Greece and then Hungary were left to face the invasion, and with Shengen once people are inside the Union they can travel to most countries undetected. So far it has been almost every country on its own, with the little countries willing to let the immigrants pass just because they knew immigrants did not want to stay but wanted to go to Germany or the UK. One other problem is that immigrants who arrive to Europe are basically never sent back, they apply for asylum and they are allowed to stay for years waiting, so there is a lot of incentives for people from poor countries in Africa to make the trip. it is dangerous but if they arrive they are done. finding legal job is not easy, especially for people with no education, so some simply become criminals.

Gypsies don't run in throngs and throw themselves at you.

There may be two "working" as a pair, trying to scam people. But they don't grope you.

And they're sooo Christian. in name only . . . Give me a break.
