No players are giving up ECNL to play GA with McLean or NVA. Only the girls that can’t make the ECNL teams will do that. |
Has NVA/LSC announced anything internally regarding MLSN/GA or is this still speculation? Do you need to fill out tryout form to find out more? |
I would qualify this to say that no ECNL female player who is 8th or 9th grade and above is giving up ECNL to play GA. Right now ECNL is the place to be for college recruitment and female players within range of recruitment years would be stupid to leave ECNL (unless they can’t get an ECNL offer because tryouts will be more competitive this year). |
L O L see SYC 2012s… you’re delusional. |
There are former SYC players who stayed with McLean / Union after the SYC/Union merger blew up. They stayed for ECNL. If McLean goes GA they might as well go to SYC GA than stay with McLean GA. |
The point of breaking off is planning for the future. Not the immediate effect. They would have to focus on keeping their 2013s in tact and the younger years. |
There aren't ECNL players below 8th grade, so I'm not following your qualified logic? |
U13 are 6th and 7th graders |
I would further qualify to say no player who is a solid starter is giving up ECNL. That means there are 5 or 6 players on every ECNL team not getting the playing time they want. Many are very good players. Those are the players who would absolutely consider being a full time starter on a GA team. |
If NVA goes GA, 2 of the 3 best 2012 teams in the state will be GA teams. If Mclean goes GA for the 2013's the 3 best teams in the state will be GA. I think this pattern would continue for the most part as they younger teams come of age for U13 play |
Don't worry Arlington and VDA are not too far behind, they're already sniffing around. We'll see which one wins the race first to the MLSN+GA switch in the next 12-18 months... My money is on VDA |
NVA parent and no. Nothing at all. |
Are they calling their ID camps ECNL ID camps or just ID Camps.. |
it just says NVA ID sessions on IG. Nothing on website at all that I can find. |
Just like last year. And the year before, and the year before.... |
