NVA/Loudoun to MLS Next

Is this saying McLean is moving to GA while FVU stays ECNL? Basically a split.

Or is this saying FVU to GA and then McLean RL & lower level teams to whatever GA2 leagues they come up with?

Dcum rumors do not equal facts.

Maybe someone like a FCV gets moved to GA2 if they don't perform well in GA next year.

GA2 is not a league, just marketing. You don't get moved to GA2.

GA2 is not a league currently, but that may change in the very near future...

GA2 will be a new league. It will take the place of DPL for now I’m sure. Waiting on announcement. Maybe NAL and a few other smaller leagues consolidate.

"i'm sure" has always been convincing.

Agreed, let's see if JH can pull some national level female coaches then I will be truly impressed.

Ha! You must not know JH.

Hey look, If you’re not top 25 clubs in ECNL or top 10 clubs in GA….does anybody really care????

VDA, Arlington, and Bethesda likely to be the only ECNL clubs left in the area. We all whined about how diluted the ECNL market was in the DMV and how teams couldn’t compete at the national level because of it. Well, now we’re getting what we asked for. As a parent of a daughter on an ECNL team, I’m excited about it. I just hope that the coaches at VDA, Arlington, and Bethesda don’t play favorites and take the top talent.

FVU can exist without McLean. And aren’t there rumblings about Arlington looking to move to GA/MLS in a year or so?

Even if those were the only 3 ECNL clubs left, you can't assume all the best talent would still go ECNL. There are too many players and competition and at least one of the GA teams would likely emerge the way old FCV did. At the end of the day there is enough demand here for more NL teams and as long as there are enough paying customers there will be more teams.

The problem in your theory is that the other ECNL teams aren't going away and consolidating talent to the three you mentioned. They are just changing to GA. Still the same number of "top" teams in the area, and still the same problem.

Tryout player to spot ratio for ECNL and MLSN in the DMV area are around 3 to 1. Agreed?

Possibly, but many at the tryouts really shouldn't be there....
