any ideas how the boys teams are shaping up? Could nva be a contender for syc etc

It would be hard for a newly formed 2012 team to compete with SYC. But maybe NVA can compete with Alexandria, Bethesda, and Armour.

2012 will still be bad. 2013 will be good. because most players came from Bethesda and Valor with less Loudoun players. almost all Loudoun 2013 kids are on mslnext2

must have been a very unusually strong year for valor as usually they can't even get one kid on a higher level team.

must have been a very usual normal year for loudoun as usually their u9-u12 are at bottom of the pool.

they limit going to the tournaments to limit the exposure of lack of talent/coaching. ask why they are not in more tournaments or going to specific tournaments. they will give you bs answers. 2nd and lower teams are even more barred from tournaments due to this reason.
this is the way

Yes, a VERY unusual team for Valor. The whole team left for next season though! I believe 6 went to FVU with their coach.

Has to be frustrating for Valor, MLS 2 now comes ahead of RL?

Among the boys we know, the MLS2 team kids all came from RL or NCSL teams. Locally, MLS2 is the same talent level as RL.

^^^Of course, Valor sucks in general, so their teams might be worse...

I would not set the bar too high the first year. Coming from ECNL, the first thing you’re going to experience is the speed difference— everything runs at least 20% faster.

You’ll also be squaring off against several professional academy teams, FC Delco and some decent local competition. It’s going to be a BIG difference from the middling ECNL mid-Atlantic Region. But as a parent, that’s exactly what you want—to play against better completion.

Lastly, don’t get hung up on the W/L record for U13 & U14. MLS doesn’t list them. Instead, MLS post’s each team’s QoP (Quality of Play) each Friday afternoon during the season. You can find out more about this on the their website.

Welcome to MLSNext!

Since JK is buying up LSP property for $6-9 million to turn it into an ugly development, and LS will continue to hold monopoly in the county keeping access for fields… where does this leave NVA in terms of securing space for their teams? NVA is LS in a different cloth. I can’t seem to find NVA’s legal status, they’re also a “non-profit”?

Lol if they're only getting $6-9M for LSP. It's possible NVA has since formally split off as a shadowy standalone, but they're certainly still managed by the same people. Does PRCS know that fields being secured by LS and it's (dwindling) rec program are being used by NVA?

It’s not dwindling. Actually is higher than ever. Revolution only has money. No tangible access to break LS’s empire.

Bolen Fields. Several being converted to turf. Great Facilities. DC united is up there for their training grounds. To read about the field conversion, you have to find the bolen icon on the map and then download the quarterly report. 3 million renovation apparently? I am no expert in reading these froms https://loudoungis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0bfa4487cb214133b0a01924a79b1b02
