TJ is less competitive than in past years. Overall, it is academically weaker.

No one should express surprise TJ’s ranking has fallen from first to 14th place.

Now that the selection process has been fixed to prevent the faux-gifted kids from buying their way in, I suspect TJ will be back on top. It's also more diverse at least not just the kids from a few wealthy schools and also less toxic.

Everything can be reverse-engineered, but the only way TJ returns to being on top is if the evaluation criteria are rewired specifically to reward TJ for its own "experience factors.

Otherwise the slide will continue.

US News and World Report does not care about the ranking of any particular school. The metrics are what they are and where TJ lands will largely depend on the level to which the new students have participated in AP exams and their success in passing them.

Either way, the exams that will affect the next set of rankings have already been taken.

And the data was from TJ BEFORE they changed the selection process so guessing it will shoot way up since the new process got rid of all those cheaters.

Are you really that stupid? GreatSchools has tinkered with its metrics for years and so too has (and might in the future) US News, in ways that might either favor or disfavor TJ.

Yes, it was from 2022 BEFOREthey changed their process. Falling to 14th is a direct reflection of the previous system which isn't surprising since people were buying their way in.

GS rankings punish diverse schools because they dock them for an achievement gap which they ignore for segregated schools.

So, TJ was more divert when it was #1 in the old system, dummy!

Really?!

Anything in the top 100 nationally is still very good! Stuyvesant was #1 for the longest time, now it's below TJ. It still has less than 1% acceptance. TJ is still a very good school! There are 25k schools in the nation, so to be ranked in the top 100 still puts the school in the .4%Ile. Geez, people get some perspective!

This decline occurred based on data from the previous admissions process. The new one which eliminated the cheating should improve the schools standing.
