When the misconception collides with reality, it's time to file lawsuits. Why not accept that the positive aspects of America that drew you here are worth preserving? Perhaps a different educational model was actually at the heart of something potentially valuable in the U.S. culture/economy that enticed you to start a new life in Bethesda or wherever?

Hear, hear!

Why come here if you don't like it? Why not attend school in Asia? Oh wait, there is too many people? Yup, same here! Guess what? Same rules apply to EVERYONE now - congratulations??

The racism on this site and the dripping disdain. True colors from these posters where it's anonymous.

We didn't all "come here" - not all POC are immigrants!

Also you are very uninformed as the lawsuit was never about test scores and arguing they must trump other factors.

Then, they can go home and use it against the U.S.

Good idea, no?

As an Asian American, I'm all for limiting and carefully screening international students.

It’s amusing some people think anything will meaningfully change. It’s not like PREPPED test scores and gpas will suddenly rule all.

Fixed that for you.

I never understand just picking on test.

You can bump up GPA with tutoring.
You can spend $$$ for fancy ECs, research activity, private coaches
You can hire professional writerse for essays

In fact, again and agan Aisans had higher scores on almost all factors including ECs, leadership, interview, etc.

Asians get more tutoring than anyone, so your point is lost.

yes they care and value educaiton. they spend more money on education than Nike sneakers, so what??

And this is where I become so angry. SO MANY ethnic groups "care and value education".
That Asians honestly believe that they are the only ones that do, makes me think ugly thoughts about Asians.
We are all more alike than we are different. We all want what is best for our kids.

No, the whites don't - the whites are stupid and lazy and have no brains.

Whites aren't even smart enough to tutor day and night and buy tests, they have to get A's on their own.

So stupid!

I care more about U.S. History than the lawsuit - maybe you should, also.

Tony Hsieh (Taiwanese) made nearly one billion dollars selling Nike sneakers.

Maybe chill a little on the mud flinging and aspersions, okay?

AND RACISM, TOO.

Our people suck, our schools suck - maybe tell us what else? You just like our colleges?

what do you mean by our colleges? we are not talking about international students here.
that's totally differenct topic.

It’s amazing that in a post about racial discrimination, you can so cluelessly spout racial invective. These stereotypes are *the reason* the Court did what it did. Congrats!

You have spouted enough racism for an entire country. Maybe get your own figures of speech. Don't learn so much here.

Read the PP's, and how stupid they think whites and U.S. colleges are. That is all this is.

This will be easier for some versus other, and I wonder if less uncommon bi-radials will be advantaged here: read less black/white or Asian/white, and more black/asian, etc.

Yeah, are they going to just add in a mention of their color in an essay about a different topic? It seems odd.

Unbelievable. Asians actually think they are the superior race. Remind you of anyone??

How do you say HITLER is Chinese?

I value education but I do draw the line. These are just kids. I don’t buy expensive shoes. But I tend to shy away from a rat race for kids, they’ll have time to discover how competitive life is while in college.

Every kid is different and parents know their kids the best.
You do you what's best for your kids.
Why are you trying to control other families??

Not trying to control you, but it is setting an unfair precedent. You brag and boast about having such a bright child who was accepted to Harvard or whatever prestigious school. When in reality, your child has received probably twice the education as others. Your kid is unfairly more prepared than most that’s all. They aren’t some phenom or something, we all should have such an advantage.
