Three in the "metro area" (Bethesda).

Well BRYC had 35 girls with college commitments over the last 4 years without ECNL. So ECNL is obviously not the only local path to playing in college.

Bethesda draws from DC as do some VA clubs - so yes there is some overlap.

Anyone else find it ironic that this thread is over 407 pages long and only 4 people responded to the Champions league thread (1 that didn't know what it was)? It is very telling for US soccer moms and dads.

Watching Dortmund vs Benfica replay now with my 9 year old DD. She knows all the players and teams...thanks my nephew and PS4 FIFA. Went to the US women's game...she pretty vocal about the lack of quality play by the US.

i come to this thread to read about local area kids' soccer from a parent's perspective because I am a parent of a kid in the area playing soccer. I get my 'real' soccer fix on sports boards. This is a parenting board.

That is how my boys were. My youngest was 5 during the last World Cup and thanks to the Panini sticker books he could recite full team rosters of every country.

1 or 2 per team crossing the river plus 1 or 2 per team coming from DC means they share some of the same player pool.

Case closed.

+1 I'm a frequent contributor here (and a huge DCUM fan), but I can't imagine this will ever be a major source for my pro or national team soccer news or discussion. To give you a sense of my geekdom, I've read every post I can find on twitter and bigsoccer about the U20 national team Workd Cup qualifiers, and watched the Panama, Mexico, and Honduras games. And I'm not a former player or long-term time soccer fan. Just a mom who fell in love with the game after watching her kids play.

Jefferson Cup tomorrow. How much does it matter that our DD's team is in a flight a couple from the bottom of 7 flights? So DD wins and call yourself a Champion . . . when there are 20+ teams ahead of DD that could beat her teams pants off but go home with nothing?!!? What is the perspective here, and why do this unless your team is in the Championship flight? Open to viewpoints.
