The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been informed of the first case of the coronavirus in a person who did not recently return from a foreign country or have contact with a confirmed case, according to a person briefed on the case. Officials have begun tracing the contacts of the resident to find out how the person may have been infected and who else might have been exposed..

Run check on all gps records that came in close contact with his phone and you are done in five minutes. Send text to all phones of contact to stay put!

You can bet that it's going to turn out that the person has recently visited their local Super Walmart, as well as, Costco so the number of people they've been in contact with is huge.

Just in the past few days I know that I've been to Walmart, Target, a shoe store, the grocery store, a restaurant....it's not like a person only comes into contact with a set number of coworkers and family members.

Unless there is a Walmart cult that shares wine and spend long hours together, I don’t think it is a problem. So far people did not seem to be getting it in passing but in stationary gathering.. but even so, planes were not an issue so far.

I bet his path must have crossed with someone from the
Hot spots who did not reveal. Still phone record could tell.

I am not sure if Pence even believes in germ theory.

How many folks who are able to telework in DC area will ask to do so? I’m considering. Not so much for me, but for my elderly father I care for.

Question to the expert epidemiologist:

About the seemingly unrelated cases in Europe..
Once they run the DNA of the pathogens in each case in different countries, and they will be of the same origin but without any social connection , could it be potentially pointing to something nefarious?

I wold think that putting everyone who can be on telecommute now would semi isolate huge group of people improving odds. This is how prevention works. If there is no harm to effectiveness lets do it now. Kids have no reason to be subjected to school closing at this time because there is no imminent threat and their learning would suffer. But telecommute is really a great and easy preventive measure and zero cost.
Some gain, no traffic, pollution reduced, more rested people earned two hours time a day in commute waste, could also be stronger more rested and their immune system would be charged and ready to fight any silly germ.

Maybe these kinds of Pandemics will lead to widespread teleworking and more and more working moms will choose to not quit and become SAHMs.

I can see the benefit of Coronavirus.

The kids will be bringing the virus home to their parents and their parents will still be running out to do errands. No one is going to send their kid to school and then continually isolate themselves at home.
