The details in this article are shocking.

Is it wrong of me that I judge the mother more harshly?

My husband is on jury duty during this time. I hope he gets this case!

Yes 21:56 you're wrong. The parents were together. Either one of them could have said, "no way."

The usa today article has a link to the police report. The parents really thought they did nothing wrong.

I'd be a thousand times more sympathetic if they said "we lost track of time entirely..." or "it was an error of judgement" instead of acting so blase. like its no big deal to leave your kids sleeping in the car for an hour.

Yes it is wrong of you. It's outright sexism. Both are responsible for their poor choices.

I have no doubt they have left those kids unattended before. I'm positive they left those kids home alone sleeping and went out with friends. Both kids are probably in cribs and bedroom doors were probably locked. Crazy.

Ive been obsessed with this story. I have to agree with people exoressing outrage that these well educated, wealthy parents had no excuse and furthermore should have known better than to make the poor decision that they did. Im wondering if they somehow really are just clueless. The mom looks so pleasant. Is she under the thumb of a controlling husband? Is she socially clueless/have some sort of disorder that impairs her judgement? I dont know enough about the husband, havent seen his picture. I dont want to judge the mother more harshly, but genuinely curious:what was she thinking? I get the sense that even if they had no clue sbout what they were doung, they must now regret their actions deeply, and not just because theyre embarrased. Looking at her fb pic, you can see she loves her children.

Yes! It was just in World News with David Muir. I can't believe it went beyond local news.

I can't either. Looks like they promptly took down all of their FB/LinkedIn/Twitter pages. I'm sure their expensive lawyers know what to do when shit hits the fan.

Is this her?

I'm getting the "content currently unavailable" message when I click on your link.

You have to be logged into FB already before you click the link for the page to show up. If you get "Content currently unavailable" you are not logged in. Open another tab and log into FB, then click the link and you'll see the page.

Are you asking this seriously?

Here's my theory:
1. Jennie left idiot DH in the car with the kids and since they were sleeping he got bored and went into the wine tasting and just mingles.

2. Jennie may not have known he was doing this. Depends on how crowded the room was.

3. She finally met up with him and said WTF are you doing get back out there to the car, asshole.

4. He goes back out and there and is busted by MPD.

5. Jennie ambles up all WTF--and then is scrambling to cover DH's ass.

They are going to turn on each other and have separate counsel by the preliminary hearing on the 18th. (Which won't happen on that date anyway as counsel will ask for and receive a continuance.)

unlikely b/c they had the phones set up tp be on a call - so he clearly had to take her phone to turn it on and dial his number and then leave hers in the car. i doubt she would go in alone without her phone... so, they are both fully aware and complicit.
