I already gave my guess as to why he married her. I don't care that he prefers being married to her instead of me - he wants kids and has them with her and I don't want kids. So he and I being married wouldn't work.

You were like 19 or 20 when he got married to her, weren't you? 30 something men know that no 19/20 (24) year old KNOWS if they want children or not because late teens/early 20's are barely out of childhood themselves. He married this woman because he wanted HER. He sleeps with YOU because you let him.

Plenty of child-free women on this forum have stated they knew at that age they didn't want kids.

Well maybe 30 something child-free women can look back on their lives and say that they knew very early on that they didn't want kids. But, trust me, there are plenty of moms who can look back to a time when they knew that they didn't want kids, too. Minds change. And 30 something men (especially master manipulators like your boyfriend) know that. In fact, I'll bet that if your boyfriend wanted YOU to have a kid, he would find a way to make you want one, too.

No. I let a friend know. We have been each other's emergency contact since college.
My parents are more the type to go "Oh that's terrible, feel better, good luck" than to jump on the next plane out here and swoop in to get all involved.

I think that some of us are trying to do just that. Right now, that cockapoo is all that this girl really has that is her very own. She could have so much more. I really hope that this is not for real. If it is, how very, very sad.

You are wrong! It happens and has happened to my personal knowledge and it will not be found out as long as one takes a few precautions and most important: the two parties to the affair don't share that information with anyone else.
